Does a great job of addressing and dispelling myths and beliefs about prostitution. If you only read one part of the book, I would skip straight to the back and read the section entitled, "Barriers to Services for Women Escaping Nevada Prostitution and Trafficking." Another great/fascinating section is "Pimp Subjugation of Women by Mind Control." This latter section really shows how manipulative and intricate this system of prostitution really is.

This book resulted from a two-year long study of prostitution and trafficking in Nevada that was sponsored by the State Department. It provides a very thorough account of the situation there and offers carefully researched facts and expert insight. Dr. Melissa Farley is the Executive Director of Prostitution Research and Education (PRE), a 15-year old abolitionist nonprofit based in San Francisco.
