This book is one that teaches the valuable lesson of treating others like you want to be treated. Brother Bear kept teasing and then he ends up getting teased. It shows that bullying never pays off and that it just isn't a nice thing to do. This book targets first and second graders and offers a clear message that the children will understand.

Brother Bear thinks that it is great fun to tease Sister Bear even though she doesn't like it very much. But Brother gets a taste of his own medicine when he is given the job of special messenger and all the cubs in his class think he is the new teacher's pet. So how will Brother react when he sees a new kid being teased because he isn't very sporty?

He's her own brother,
but Sister is pleased
when the tables are turned
and Brother gets teased.

Brother gets teased when he gets a special job from the principal. A new kid comes to school who gets teased instead of him so Brother decides to help him.

Can be paired with The Bully.

This is a good book to read when teasing or bullying have come up in the classroom. It is about Brother bear and how he likes to tease until it starts happening to him. Then he sticks up for someone else. It is just a great book to show that teasing isnt the answer.

This is a good book that emphasizes not only how to deal with teasing as a fact of life, but why teasing is mean. It's probably best to read this to young school age children, to help prepare them for teasing they might experience at school.

This book is cute and my kids love the bears. It mostly has going for it that the characters are established and it is easy to teach moral lessons using these books.

Mom says, "Kids love the Berenstain Bears, and it's nice that there's a message delivered with each story. But man are they long. And what's up with Ma and her nightcap?"

All I know is that we were reading this one because I tease my brother too much. Sigh.

This was in some ways a standard Berenstain Bears book, although I did think it was a little heavier handed in its "lesson" than some. Not my favorite, although the books are always cute.
