This is a book that students of all ages can relate to. In the story, the two siblings beg their parents to buy them the new "hip and cool" toys that are popular and they try to collect as many as they can! In the end, the brother and sister do not even have fun playing with them, but waste a lot of their money just to have these toys that they can't exactly play with. My kids love all the berenstain bear books! Always great lessons & values taught! :)

This book was very obviously based on the Beany Baby craze, right down to their inclusion in Happy Meals. I thought the idea of the book was good - a warning against wasting money on fads, but I didn't like how it was executed. The father bear is just as bad as the kids, and they don't seem to learn anything in the end, which is odd for a series which gives a moral right on page 1.
