I found this book very helpful. Willimon is writing from a different place theologically, but his observations here were very shrewd and biblically grounded. A lot of good food for preachers here.

Offers good perspective on preaching, reminding me of its importance and supernatural endowment

This had some very good parts, and some parts not as good. But the parts that were good, were very good, and the less estimable portions were still edifying. I might be inclined to say that there were points where I was deeply encouraged by what was said, even if I disagreed with what was being said. An odd experience I realize...but overall, very good truths here presented quite winsomely!

Probably the best book on preaching I've ever read. Not a practical guidebook like some others but a theological framework for the task of preaching. It's blown my mind on more than a few occasions.
