Recommends it for: Those Who Enjoy Reading Plays
Recommended to Lisa (Harmonybites) by: Good Reading: 100 Significant Books
Moliere has long been on my to-read list because his comedies were on a list of "100 Significant Books" I was determined to read through. The introduction in one of the books of his plays says that of his "thirty-two comedies... a good third are among the comic masterpieces of world literature." Very funny. A later edition of Aristophanes. Witty and engaging.

Verdaderamente entretenida y jocosa...

The codifier of French social commentary through farce. He should be required reading for those studying societies moving through repression to more open conventions. A comparison to plays currently written in places like Iran might be illuminating.
Great playwrights always manage to hit on themes and characteristics of the human saga that are a constant no matter what century they are applied to.
Moliére je samozřejmě úžasný, přesto u mě vždycky vévodí Carlo Goldoni.
i love moliere. am now on a new mission to see one of his plays staged.
Le medecin malgre lui, hands down best moliere play.
