Zumindest trägt er es mit Leidenschaft zusammen -- so wie in <em>Schotts Sammelsurium Essen &amp; Trinken</em>.<p>  Gleich nach seinem Erscheinen wurde <em>Schotts Sammelsurium</em>, eine Ansammlung nützlichen und nutzlosen, teils einfach auch peripheren Wissens, zum Mega-Seller. Was lag da näher, als noch einmal nachzulegen, um an den Erfolg des Vorgängers anzuknüpfen? Entstanden ist der Band <em>Schotts Sammelsurium Essen &amp; Trinken</em>, für den sich Autor Ben Schott hin und wieder aus seinem Erstling bedient. Aber selten. Und wenn, dann nur, um seine schon damals wichtigen Erkenntnisse neu aufbereitet oder erweitert zu präsentieren. Das meiste aber ist neu in dem Buch, das sich als &#132;Picknickkorb voller kulinarischer Beiläufigkeiten und unbeachteter Konversationshappen&#147; versteht. Dem ist eigentlich nichts mehr hinzuzufügen. So ist <em>Schotts Sammelsurium Essen &amp; Trinken</em> ein unverzichtbares Vademekum für alle geworden, die auf der nächsten Stehparty nicht übers Wetter, sondern übers Essen reden wollen.
