A pleasure to read history through the eyes of someone who actually lived through it. His experience as an immigrant to our country was inspiring and an affirmation that a good work ethic is essential to success for immigrants and native Americans alike! We can all learn from his story.

I enjoyed reading the story of the former senator from Florida who grew up in Orlando after being smuggled out of Cuba.

It was hard to rate this book. It's totally a extend-my-political-campaign book, written with a ghostwriter, but I learned a lot about Cuban American immigrants. I had never heard of the Peter Pan (Pedro Pan in Spanish) program before, so that was fascinating.
