Third book in the series and I am still addicted. The Argeneau of focus in this one was Lucern and he played the role of the curmudgeonly old vamp (over 600 years old) who was growing tired of life. Enter his editor - Kate C Leever. Kate took over "handling" Luc when his old editor died of a heart attack. Growing increasingly annoyed at his lack of communication she finally - in a desperate bid - flew to his house in Toronto to make him commit to an interview or a book tour or just to More...

NO LONGER SINGLE!!!

I love, love and love this book. By far the funniest of the series and my second favourite. No matter how awesome Lucern is he doesn’t shine like my Thomas, read the series and you will know what I am talking about.

Lucern Argeneau is the oldest of the Argeneau children so that makes him a little over six hundred 612 to be exact, he’s an old vampire. Bored with life he keeps himself in solitude, because once you are that old you have seen it all. He is a More...

Great start. Luc's favorite word..."no"
I have to admit this series is growing on me. Each book has gotten better. I'm really enjoying this one!

The RT convention... great story. Loving the codpiece issue. Hilarious! This couple is truly great together.

This was a fun read. Love the characters and the conflict. Highly recommend this one!

This book is definitely paranormal lite with all of Lynsay Sands' trademark silly and slapstick humor. I enjoyed it for the most part, although I wish I had read the first two books prior to reading this one. There were some major eye-rolling moments, such as the heroine being so naive that she called a joint a "debbie". But this is a very different take on the origin of vampires than any that I've seen so far, and I really felt that the relationship between Luc and Kate was a sweet on

This book was a crack up. Lucern is a grump who is very antisocial and Kate is his 'annoying book editor. Kate doesn't give up on Lucern and they find themselves in a bunch of funny situations as their relationship grows. I laughed out loud at some of the situations such as the 'under the table' situation at the writers ball, or when Lucern 'hit his head' in the begining of the book when they first met, too many situations to choose from!

In this series, I am finding out, that each boo More...

Once again Marguerite Argeneau is determined to play matchmaker for her children. This time Lucern the family author becomes the focus of her attentions in when Kate his publisher shows up quite unexpectedly at his home. Lucern is a sour man of few words despite the fact that he has made a living chronicling the family's romances. His books have become a great success with his fans and Kate wants him to do a book tour and a few interviews to help continue to promote them. Lucern is of course More...

Another 2 and a half but not as bad as some I've rated 2 stars, so it got a 3.

In my opinion, Single White Vampire rates somewhere between The Rogue Vampire and Love Bites. Perhaps I'm growing weary of paranormal romance in general. It's been a while since I've read a story with substance in this genre, which is a shame because the potential for well-developed, intelligent, complex characters and fantastic storylines is there for the taking. Maybe the demand is overwhelmingly for the More...

Lucern Argeneau just wants to be left alone; however, he just can't seem to get rid of his new editor Kate C Leever who keeps hounding him to do some publicity for his new books. Kate takes up residence in his house and seems like she will not leave until he agrees to do something, then the worst happens, his very determined mother gets involved and decides to do a little matchmaking. But the more he is in her company the more he realizes maybe he doesn't mind having her aro More...

This book was a fast, light easy read. I enjoyed the story, but not enough to seek out another in the series. I kept comparing it to the Twilight books, which I enjoyed despite the appallingly weak, insipid main female character, and the annoying chauvinist vampire. What I liked about this book, and for which I rated it higher than I might otherwise, was the strong female lead in Kate, and the way she didn’t let a potentially sexist vampire – Lucern – get it all his own way. In fact because of h More...

Is it weird that I read this book four years ago but could not remember because the cover had been changed!!! I still enjoyed reading it again though (always a sign of a good book)!!! I found this book to be quite different from Vampires Are Forever (Argeneau #8) and Vampire Interrupted (Argeneau #9). I found a great deal of inconsistencies. Firstly, Lynsay Sands stated in Vampires are Forever and Vampire Interrupted, that Vampires ate after meeting their lifemate. However, here Lucern says that More...

Ah, another awesome book. I'm glad the writer made Kate mention that Luc was named after a dairy product. That was bugging me up until that point and I thought maybe she didn't know. I don't know how widespread that brand is. *shrug*
These stories are always very fun and sexy and I can't wait to read the rest of them!
I do have to say, though, that I always end up hungry afterwards. All this reading about hungry characters will do that to you I guess.

Can I give a book a lower rating just because I don't like the author's take on vampirism?!? Ok, I do know vampires really aren't real... but saying they are Atlantians who developed nanos that live in their bodies and feed off of their blood (which is why they need to consume blood to survive...)

That annoyed me!!! I couldn't get over it.... the story wasn't too bad, but that part - I guess it's a different take, but still... talk about going all out fantasy!

After being told by a friend to give this book a chance, I was surprised just how much I enjoyed it. It is one of those books that you just can't put down and the vampire Lucern has a wonderful way of just burying himself into your heart with the intense development of his character opening up to show more sides to himself.
The book also shows that even though you might be a vampire, you can still have a family that can annoy the living daylights out of you, especially in the form of a mat More...

The thing I love about the Argeneau Novels is that although it is clearly a series you do not have to read them in the series order(which is a blessing if, like me, you rely on the local library!)
Ok so to 'Single White Vampire', Although I did like the book I do not think it was as good as the others, (my favourite up to now is Bite me if you can ). The romance was as steamy as it was 'aww making' however I found myself becoming frustrated with Lucern and Kate towards the end and pretty mu More...

Synopsis from the back cover:

Roundhouse Publishing editor Kate C. Leever’s first letter to her newest legacy author was intended to impress upon him the growing demand for his “vampire romances.” Though he’d expressed little to no desire for publicity, book tours or the like, it was clear that this was a writer waiting to be broken out. Correspondence with Mr. Lucern Argeneau tended to be oddly delayed, but this time his response was quick and succinct.

But Kate was ad More...

This is book 3 in the Argeneau Vampire Series and it was a good read.

Lucern Argeneau is a writer of "fiction" paranormal romance stories that are based on his family of unusually bred vampires. His editor Kate C Leever turns up on his doorstep because he won't answer her letters the way she wants them answered. He is sullen, grumpy and very unfriendly but Kate manages to push her way into his home and before he knows it he has agreed to meet Kate at a writers conference (he More...

I think I enjoyed this book even more than the first. And I really enjoyed the first. I always go for books with mysterious male vampires who need to be woke up by a woman! haha. I really like how Sands writes and how each installment in the series is telling the story of each family member in the Argneau family. Lucian was this stories family member and I loved him. Lucern is a famous paranormal romance novelist. The funny thing is, he isn’t writing fiction at all. He's pretty much a hermit. Hi More...

My one complaint is that Kate accepted that Lucern was a vampire too easily. Otherwise, it's another amusing Argeneau tale. I really enjoyed that this one was fun and light. It's a nice change to read about vampires that aren't always surrounded by gloom and doom.

“Single White Vampire” is a fun romantic comedy that Vampire romance lovers are sure to enjoy.

Kate is a determined woman and she doesn’t take no for an answer. This causes a bit of trouble for Lucern who ends up entertaining her at his house as well as finding out she is a potential life mate. Kate is perfect for Lucern because she doesn’t allow him to boss her around and gets him to loosen up a bit and have some fun.

She's a romance editor who inherited him as a writer from a retiring editor. He's about 600 years old and cranky. She decides the only way to get him "out of his shell' is to walk into his house and drag him out on a book signing tour. . .

And as they say in Hollywood, wacky hijinks ensue. . .

These two get interrupted SO many times for the dumbest reasons (most of the time it's her completely ignoring what he's said and walking in) you just want to smack the auth More...

Lynsay absolutely rocks with her new series about a dysfunctional vampire family! I won't go into the plot line
too heavy because you need to experience all the surprises
and delights yourself.
A mother, two sons and a daughter (and more relatives to come hopefully) face the every day struggles of vampire existence in the 21st Century. In this tale, originally called Lucern, we meet Lucern Argeneau, the first son.
He is a four hundred year old vampire, getting by in the d More...

600-year-old vampire Lucern Argeneau has made a living writing vampire romances--actually the love stories of his family. But his reclusive nature has made his editor, Kate, determined to draw him out to conferences and interviews. When she shows up unexpectedly at Lucern's house, he'll have to resist more than just her entreaties--he'll have to resist falling in love.

I read this after most of the later ones, and the mythology hasn't been quite as developed and that really grated on me More...

I bought this, because it looked cool and it was in the YA section.
How was I supposed to know the content!?
I actually, really liked this book, despite the dishiness (i am only a teen!) and I liked the first half of the book, because of the way Sands describes the slow bringing of Lucern and Kate together- adding alot of funny and romantic scenes.
The second half was good, too (even the sex!). I liked the story overall, although the vampire idea, I thought, was an extra, not reall More...

I reread this via listening the audiobook. This is one of the first quirky light hearted vampire romances I read and it still is really funny the 2nd time. I almost laughed outloud on the train listening to the scene where Lucern's cod piece gets caught on the table cloth... Like her other books, the series is not really a "urban fatasy," it's a light/humorous romance with a bit of vampire. So people who are not used to urban fantasy shouldn't be put off by the vampire element. I li More...

Grouchy reclusive vampire writes the true love story of his vampire family-for his brother and parents. Romance fans mistakenly believe these to be fiction paranormal romances and hilarity ensues. The plot itself is funny and there are plenty of scenes that are giggle worthy, but the overall effect of the book is burdened with slow writing. There are a few too many lapses into deep thought and explanations that reveal way more than we need -i.e. the weird Atlantian story of nanobytes causing More...

The book was great fun just like the first 2 Argeneau books. Lucern was much less concerned with people discovering his secret than I would think that a 700 year old vampire would be. I would also think that the modern vampires would have perfected traveling and ensuring a food source is available. I think most people who interacted with Luc and Kate at the conference will read his next book and at least believe that HE believes he is a vampire. Once you accept these issues things start flowing More...

Let me say the narrator in this book stinks! I think he tried but he made the characters sound so terrible. Luc sounded like an old stodgy man with white hair and a plump belly and a stogy instead of a so hot you want to drop your clothes vampire. And the female character voices! UGH! He also reads the next book in the series, which is making me consider actually reading it and not listening to the audio-book. Now with that complaint done let me talk about the actual story.
