My mom gave me this book when I was a teenager and I've read it at leat 20 times since then. Kaz Cooke offers comic insight into the myths and realities of the beauty and body world. The illustrations make you smile and the quotes from real women make you nod your head in agreement. The book is a serious pick-me-up and I would recommend it to any woman. What woman doesn't need to reminded, "You are NOT your thighs!" sometimes?

Just had this returned after lending it years ago. Will hear Kaz Cooke speak next mon so very timely. Great book, loads of excellent info and anecdotes.
I loved this book- very funny, and great advice to help any woman look a different way at herself and her body. Very uplifting and real- wish I'd found it earlier!
Every woman should read this book. Its liberating and validating.
Very good book to give to a teen age, adolescent daughter to read.

this is really funny!
I first read this book when I was a vulnerable teenage idiot and it helped me greatly. Kaz Cooke is an icon of awesome. Teenage girls should be force fed her works for their own damn good - not that they'd need to be because she's fantastic.
I enjoy Kaz Cooke, she's funny. This is one of those books where everything said is really obvious and sensible, about body image and the like, yet it works and is interesting and doesn't just feel like same old, same old.
Most of what it talks about is extremely obvious - but it's the sort of obvious that often needs to be pointed out. Makes you very aware of just how much rubbish is being fed to women from all directions.
funny and smart. this book helped me recognize and address my disordered eating. i recommend it to anyone who wants to do the same.
Perfect for any woman anywhere with any body issues! (hello, I'm talking to you!)
Very droll look at body image.
