Recommends it for: all women
My mom gave me this book when I was a teenager and I've read it at leat 20 times since then. Kaz Cooke offers comic insight into the myths and realities of the beauty and body world. The illustrations make you smile and the quotes from real women make you nod your head in agreement. The book is a serious pick-me-up and I would recommend it to any woman. What woman doesn't need to reminded, "You are NOT your thighs!" sometimes?

I first read this book when I was a vulnerable teenage idiot and it helped me greatly. Kaz Cooke is an icon of awesome. Teenage girls should be force fed her works for their own damn good - not that they'd need to be because she's fantastic.

I enjoy Kaz Cooke, she's funny. This is one of those books where everything said is really obvious and sensible, about body image and the like, yet it works and is interesting and doesn't just feel like same old, same old.

Most of what it talks about is extremely obvious - but it's the sort of obvious that often needs to be pointed out. Makes you very aware of just how much rubbish is being fed to women from all directions.
