This is a how-to book, not an interpretive one. It is not a commentary on each week’s reading, but rather an “instruction manual” on how each of us can read and interpret for ourselves the 54 Torah portions of ...more

The book is a good overview to prepare one to do the Weekly Torah Portions, but it does not aid in actually reading the actual portions. I was looking for a commentary so I was disappointed, However, for an overview in preparation for the moderate to liberal reader of the Torah it is a great launching pad. I have 3 commentaries now so it does fill an purpose for me now.
