By the author of the Automatic Millionaire. Good for those without a social conscience and an eye on the checkbook.

If you're already "green," this book might not hold anything new. But it packs a lot of good tips into a small number of pages, so you never know!

A good quick book if you see it at the library. Easy read, more like a list. Best part is the websites that he gives (about 5 per suggestion) that help you do practical and green things like cutting down on junk mail or investing green. I didn't find anything I hadn't heard about before, but good reminders and reasons why it is important.

Wow! This was such an easy read! I finished it in one day and learned so much! It is so practical, useful, educational, and awesome!
In the book are 50 simple ways to be more green and also save money!
I am all about going green. This is what I currently do:
Recycle
Switched lightbulbs to the energy efficient ones
Lowered the thermostat by two degrees (And use blankets)
No longer buy plastic water bottles
Unplug appliances when not in use

my grad school friend, Chandrarecommends it for: Those wanting to save a few bucks and save the planet at the same time.
The purpose of this book is to encourage eco-friendly living, which will result in money saved. The "Live Green, Live Rich" tips Bach provided were straightforward and made me want to begin my journey to "Live Green." So many of his tips were common sense, easy to implement kind of things like not letting the water run while your brushing your teeth, unplugging your appliances and electronics when they are not in use, carpooling, etc. Some of the ideas, though, I had not thou...more

David Bach is the writer of the popular Finish Rich series. I haven't read his other books, so I can't comment on the series yet.
In Go Green, Bach starts with a chapter on knowing your impact on the environment, opening up the setting for the whole book. For the next nine chapters, Bach outlines some fifty tips on changing your behaviors so not only you would save the planet, but also save up some cash in the process (much like what William McDonough advocates that being green equals...more

David Bach includes many good tips on 'going green,' and at least six which our family can start using in the near future. I've read most of his 'Finish Rich' books and did enjoy this one during an easy one hour review. That said, sadly there were numerous tips which in my opinion were not researched sufficiently. For example:
- Eating vegetarian meals one day per week to save money is foolish. Do it because you want or need to, not to save money. Medical research clearly shows hu...more

This book is ok. I mean it's pretty informative, I'm not a true convert to going completely green by any means, but am interested in somethings at least. I felt like there's some good info in this book but it really bugs me when an author has to keep refering to all the other books they've written, like look at me see how great I am. That was my feeling anyway. The information part on living Green was educational, I learned some things I didn't know.

While getting rich isn't my life goal, I am concerned about trying to help our planet; saving money doing it is a bonus. There are great ideas for becoming more green with websites for more information. My next green goals include turning off the water when I brush my fangs and using reusable bags at the store.

There some good reminders in this book, reminders for everyone to think about their choices. However, the ideas are very basic and obvious. I was perturbed to read Bach's recommendation to parents to use disposable diapers - I think he is way off on that one. Don't waste your money or time on this book.

anyone wanting to lead a greener existence
This book is completely amazing - it has great eco tips sliced down into a few pages each addressing a specific topic, discussing both monetary and environmental aspects. While I haven't seen anything thus far that will make me "rich" - he does have some great information that I never knew, such as that some bottled waters are actually just straight tap water (shame on you Pepsi!) and those that are from springs are less heavily regulated than tap water. Wow, eye opening information ...more

Not bad. Bach provides a few interesting ways to not only help the environment but to save (and supposedly make) money too. My biggest concern is the authors promotion of bio-diesel. While bio-diesel seemed like a good idea at first, it has been debated that growing plants for fuel will only increase the demand. An increased demand will increase the need for land (goodbye rainforests), make the plants more expensive in the long run, and eventually make food more expensive, particularly for t...more

The book was written with good intentions, but I didn't learn anything new. However, if you haven't researched the subject before, you'll find some good tips on saving money and resources.

For anyone who is trying to be more green, this is a great book. It is mostly filled with simple steps which are practical and easy to do. The author has a great way of showing the impact of those steps on the earth's atmosphere and your wallet. I was already doing some of the things mentioned in the book, but I feel there is even more I can do. I don't know how concerned about global warming I should be, honestly I don't know much about it, I don't even know if I should be worried. But, I do kn...more

I only gave it 2 stars, not based on the content but rather on the fact that by the time I read this book I had read so many other books on the topic that it seemed redundant to me.

This is a useful book that gives several suggestions for reducing one's "carbon footprint." Some of them are so easy, it's ridiculous, such as bringing your lunch to work rather than buying it. David Bach is very good about pointing out how making some of these changes in our lives will actually save money, due to the common misconception that making environmentally-friendly choices as consumers usually costs more.

Quite different in content and style from his other books. I was surprised by this one, but I recommend it for its advice.
