The Darkover novels in general (and the ones about the Free Amazons in specific) changed my tiny world when I was 15-16 years old. And as a result, there will always be a tender place in my heart for really OTT trashy lesbian sci-fi. I swear this oath as the daughter of my mother.

Oath of the Renunciates contains the 2 novels, The Shattered Chain and Thendara House. I found both to be enjoyable novels. The Shattered Chain, however, is much shorter and in my opinion, a more upbeat read.

One of the Darkover Series, it gives an in-depth look at the lives of women on a planet in a medieval society. A good adventure story, and the bonding of the women from such different backgrounds is fascinating. I love the whole series.
