Comics like this are the reason that one reads comics. Bendis' writing is so exacting and self-assured that one has no choice but to go where his flights of fancy take you, and he took me exactly where I'd want a Daredevil story to be going, the heart of the criminla underworld of Hell's Kitchen and the depths of Daredevil's psyche. Daredevil being outed as Matt Murdock (possibly) is the publicity stunt for the title, but with all good Daredevil stories the real hook is Murdock going insane and...more

Probably some of the best superhero stuff I've ever read. The entire run mostly revolves around Daredevil's identity being (sort of) outed - how that's effecting his personal life, how the crime world is using it as leverage, and the awkward spot that puts the police and feds.

Alex Maleev's artwork has a photo-realistic quality to it that really makes you feel like this is real stuff without being photo-realistic. There's a noir feeling to this series that is clearly grounded in the artwork.

This was a wee treat to myself. At £54+ its certainly the most expensive book I've bought. Daredevil has always been my favourite superhero. This storyline by Brian Michael Bendis shows the true man behind the costume. This is far more than a biff bam bop comic story. The artwork throughout is superbly evocative.

Daredevil overall, is hit-or-miss character for me. Brian Michael Bendis' contributions, David Mack's Echo arch, and Frank Miller's Love & War drawing me back into life in the Kitchen.
