Very good sequel to Texas Embrace. One should definitely read these two books in order as the second does not focus on a second character from the first book as most sequels of this genre do. This is a continuation of the story hero/heroine from the first book about 8 years later. Much less romance and more of a western. Because the hero/heroine married in the first book the romance is a bit more about mature love. Most of all, the book focuses on revenge with kidnapping. The hero, John Hawkins, ...more
I don't always find a sequel to be a favorite - especially not over the first part of the story, but Rosanne Bittner sure breaks my mold on this one! So I picked this book up off the table in the break room and started reading it as something to do during lunch. It was actually pretty good. I have always been skeptical of romance novels, but now I truly know not to judge a book by it's cover.

For those of you who have not yet read my books, my stories are generally set in the American West of the 1800's and feature vividly-described, historically accurate settings that span the US from Missouri to California, from Canada to Mexico. Many of my books portray the poignant history of our Native Americans, and though the characters are my own, I use real historical locations and events in a ...more
