Seth Quinn is finally home. It's been a long journey. After a harrowing boyhood with his drug-addicted mother, he'd been taken in by the Quinn family, growing up with three older brothers who'd watched over him with love. Now a grown man returning from Europe as a successful painter, Seth is settling down on Maryland's Eastern Shore, surrounded once again by Cam, Ethan, an...more

The main thing I object is, cliché. Am I that stupid? Yes, I am. I really enjoy romances, quick light fix of alpha male and alpha female, just it’s hard to find an intelligent romance. But it is. Most of them are so badly written, that every time when I see so many 5 stars, I think about the readers and the old lady and her cats metaphor. Don't you have any whatsoever criteria if you rate THIS book 5 stars?

Why do they have to be so transparent? Quick fix doesn't necessarily need to ...more

The 4th and final book in the Chesapeake Bay / Quinn Brothers series. And yet another highly enjoyable book. I love rereading this one simply for the story (though the romance is good as well).

It's been 18 years since the Quinn brothers took Seth in and gave him a home. Eighteen years since he escaped the horrible life his mother led. He's never forgotten how lucky he is, and how much he owes to Cam, Ethan, Phillip and their wives. For the last few years, he's been traveling the...more

Definitely a keeper - the whole series is. I loved them all, this one included. Chesapeake Blue is a truly fitting conclusion to the original trilogy. The theme of family coming together in love and understanding is just as strong as in the first 3 books. I loved seeing Cam, Ethan, Phillip and their wives again, plus meeting their kids too. And Seth is one terrific guy - gorgeous, talented, considerate. The fact that he survived Gloria and was able to flourish with the Quinns makes him even more...more

My mom was forever reading one of these Nora Roberts books. I see that there are quite a few of them. They're definitely not my style of book but as I sit in her house, doing her dishes, going through her mail, I am curious to know more about the private part of her life. She was a very private person.

I'm not sure what reading this book revealed to me about her. It's very romantic; very sexual. I don't really view my mother that way. My mom was very practical and sex didn't see...more

Nothing But Nora Week, Book 2

Chesapeake Blue is the last book in the Chesapeake Bay Saga. It's the story of Seth Quinn, the youngest of the Quinn brothers, who has just returned home after a few years in Italy. Seth is now an up-and-coming painter who's making waves in art circles, but his heart, as always, lies with his family in St.Christopher, on the Maryland Shore. Soon after moving back, he encounters the fascinating Drusilla Whitcomb Banks, who has just opened a florist's shop in...more

Chesapeake Blue is the fourth and last novel in Nora Roberts' "Chesapeake Bay" series featuring her infamous Quinn brothers. Each book in the series focuses on a different brother, all of whom came from troubled and abusive families and were adopted by Ray and Stella Quinn early on in their childhoods. Chesapeake Blue is about Seth Quinn -- the only young man truly related to Ray Quinn by blood as his grandson.

There are very few authors I read in the realm of mass market pu...more

2.5 stars. Weak characters, relationship development, and plot. Enjoyable teasing and conversations among family members.

THE SERIES:
The Chesapeake Bay series includes four books which tell a continuing story about a family. Ray and Stella Quinn adopt three troubled boys who came from abusive homes. In the first three books the boys are about 30 years old. They left home, have good jobs and are single. Stella died several years earlier. In the beginning of the first book ...more

Nice setting, interesting people, family lifestyle is very appealing as is the fall in love romance.

Anna and Cam's noisy family with the yelling and blaring music - ugh.

Aubrey was a bit of a disappointment.

Seth is like Phillip in taste in women. Sometimes I confused the stories. At least there is more story and less gratuitous sex in this one. Seth seems to know how to respect and cherish the woman he loves.
Glad he has a happily ever after.

I really enjoyed reading about Seth and his life. This book added so much humor to make the situations a bit more fun, especially since Seth is still young. Reading about him as a man was far better than hearing about him when he was a boy. However, a wonderful ending to a series....

Let me first say that I loved this series by Nora Roberts. It was one of my favorite series to read! That being said this fourth book in the series isn't worth your time. This book was nothing like the first three books. I was so excited to read this one because it is about Seth and you get to see how things turn out for him. I was very disappointed. I didn't like the women he falls for...and didn't think they had much chemistry at all. I actually quit reading this book in the middle of it becau...more

This was my first Nora Roberts book and I chose it partly because I live on the Chesapeake Bay and it was on the shelf at my local library practically begging me to pick it up. I really like Roberts writing style, great character development that sucks you right into their lives.

Being an artist myself, I really got Seth and the humor and wit she wove into him. I am so happy this was my first encounter with Roberts writing and I will probably compare everything else of hers by my fir...more

This series surprised me. My sister is a big fan of the works of Nora Roberts, and I was sceptical of the value of her work, but my sister was willing to read one of my favorite book series, and so I agreed to read one of her favorite series, and the Chesapeake Bay Saga was what she gave me.

This is a wonderful series, and Nora Roberts has a great talent of getting inside a mans mind. I loved the relationship between these four brothers, and their struggles to become real men of char...more

It's always sad when you finish reading a book or a series, to say goodbye to characters you fell in love with, characters that become part of you while reading.
Each character from the Chesapeake Bay Saga became a part of me, made me want to be part of their amazing family and it's so sad to know Chesapeake Blue was the last book.

Chesapeake Blue brings us back to Seth Quinn, the last boy Ray rescued and who Cameron, Ethan and Phillip took care of after Ray died.

Something's Gotta Give
This is the fourth and final book in the Chesapeake Bay Saga - The long awaited story of Seth and Drusilla.

Seth was the pivotal character in all of the other Chesapeake Bay Saga. We saw Seth as a young boy of 10 in the first three books and the victim of child abuse. At the tender age of 10 his mother "sold" him to Ray Quinn, who met an untimely death in a car accident. In an effort to help Seth acclimate to his new environment with Ray's three adopted sons, they encouraged...more

This is one of my favourite series by Nora Robert’s, and she has written a few series most of them are pretty good. This is the 4th book in the series of the Quinn Brothers and I read this one first before I realized it was part of a series. As with a lot of series it is good to read them in order but each is still a very good on its own.

Seth Quinn, the youngest adopted son, is home for the first time in years. His is an acclaimed artist, and he is as handsome and dynamic as ...more

As always, I'm going to start off by saying I am an avid Nora Roberts reader. I prefer her trilogies and I love her books even if they all follow the same basic outline with the same different but similar characters. They entertain me regardless. So I guess I'm saying don't flame me just because I like fluffy non-thought provoking reading.

Nora Roberts writes many trilogies, or in this case a saga, it is my absolute favorite of hers. The setting is the beautifully described Chesapeake...more

This is a very, very good plot featuring a villainness we all love to hate, a vicious witch of a human with something twisted deep inside. She is using the hero's decency against him.

The protagonists rock. Dru is the kind of woman who metaphorically kicks ass first and takes names later without breaking a nail. She has the nerve to microwave her ex-fiance's CD's, launder his loafers, take scissors to his best coat, and donate his 3-carat diamond ring to a church in an envelope lab...more

This book is the final in what was the originally 3 stories of the Quinns. This is the fourth and final story of the Quinn brothers and focuses on Seth. Seth was coming home after spending years in Europe learning his artist craft and running from his past. He meets Dru and is very intrigued by this. It was good to see how the Quinns had developed in the 20 years that had passed between Cam’s story and Seth’s story. It introduces all the main characters again and brings Aubrey as an adult a...more

I got this book from the library without realizing it was the last book in a series. I enjoyed the book regardless of the fact that I didn't have have a clue of what had happened in the previous 3 books.
I'm not a fan of romance novels but I enjoyed following Dru and Seth fall in love without too much drama and heartache. And I loved the family ties of the Quinn clan.
I really enjoyed the issues between Seth and Gloria and felt they brought some excitement to the book. In other re...more

Ahh, Seth grew up!

I must admit, I fell in love with Seth on first read. Yes, he was a rough and tumble kid, but with what he'd seen in his short life so far, who could blame him? But I liked the fact that Seth was decent, liked Aubrey (Grace, the housekeeper's baby), and opened his heart enough to trust and like the family members that took him on.

Anyway, it's about a decade after the other books. Seth has come into his own as an artist, did the grand tour of Europe, sedu...more

I've been looking forward to, and dreading, the end of the Chesapeake Bay saga. Looking forward to the end because loose ends are tied up. Dreading because it means I have to say goodbye to the Quinns.

The ending was bitter sweet. I really liked Dru but she had her little moment when she annoyed me. Seth has grown up very much like each of his brothers. Throughout the novel you can see he inherited little things from all three of his brothers.

Cam, Ethan, and Phil are now ...more

Finally, Seth's story! Seth is back at St Chris to see his family, which has expanded since the last book. All the Quinn brothers are still married with kids of their own. Seth is a world-renowned artist who's traveled the globe and his mother, Gloria, is still after money. When Seth returns to the shore, it's with a heavy heart, knowing that Gloria isn't far behind. When Seth meets Dru, the newest addition to the shore who's opened a flower shop, he's instantly in lust and moved to paint h...more

Was the last of the series. Was a good round up of the other 3 books and the last story about the 4th brother. She put her heros in diffulcult situations and skillfully brought them out to be on top. Again her point of family was excelant but the soft porn cheapened it. While it was written well, seemed she wrote it in a hurry maybe to buy a new car or pay for kids braces. Not as well planned as the others. The struggle lasted the whole book but was ended in the last few pages.

I LOVED this book. It's the eventual conclusion of Sea Swept, Rising Tides, and Inner Harbor as then 10-year-old Seth is now 30 and it's his time to find love. It is still light on romance and funny, but lacking the absolute hilarity of the first three books. Still, it's a wonderful read and an enjoyable story. It's a good end to the series. I strongly recommend this book to people who don't usually enjoy romance novels (and, of course, to those who do).

Can't help but feel something is lacking from this book. Probably it's because I didn't start reading from the very beginning.

Anyway, I did enjoy this book. And somehow, this types of books that Nora writes are the ones that make you think "yes, this can really happen to anybody out there." The realness of the situations in this book makes you learn how to deal with family and the problems family go through. Not that you'll enjoy but you'll learn as well.

I listened to the 5CD audio version of this book. I didn't realize it was the last in a 4 volume series when I started but I listened to it all anyway. I thought it was fairly self-contained and I didn't miss knowing the backstory.
The first 2/3 is a son-returns-home/love story and I liked that part. The love story between Dru & Seth is sweet and sexy. After they get together, however, it degenerates into a standard soap opera which didn't interest me at all. So a mixed bag overall.
