These reviews are by young readers just after 'Duty Free' was launched;

I read Duty Free. It was set in China in Beijing and Shanghai. I’ve been to both places and I think the way Hazel Edwards described them was just how I remembered. For Beijing bells ringing, bike jams, people everywhere and definitely at full volume. For Shanghai tall buildings and very crowded, kind of like a newly improved Beijing.

I think the medicine was also very true. Little cupboards with medicine inside: dried sea hors
"Mum is a scientist, sort of. She writes about eco and rocket stuff in international journals..Helping 'little' people is OK..but this time...smuggling out maps showing atomic bases..." (Sam, Duty Free)
