"Has Jessica gone too far?" Elizabeth Wakefield knows her beautiful twin can handle almost any guy--most boys are just no match for Jessica's seductive charms. But Scott Daniels, Jessica's latest love, is more of a man than a boy, much older and much more experienced than anyone Jessica's ever dated.

When Jessica sneaks off to a college beach party with Scott, Elizabeth's a

Original for the Snark Squad here.

This is a book with a plot, and stuff, but clearly what you should know about this book is that it features one damn fine porn 'stache on the cover. What you should know about ME is that this made me entirely way too excited about life.

You're welcome, dear friend, for that close-up.

We open book #5 with Jessica checking herself out in a mirror. Again. Some more. It's practically tradition by now. She's asking Elizabeth if her outfit is sexy enough for her new,

i took three pages of snarky notes mostly dealing with how my hatred of jessica was almost obscured by how truly awful this freddie mercury-looking rapist on the cover was, how much enid wanted to get into elizabeth's pants, what a bitch elizabeth was, and how todd wilkins probably had at least one jail sentence as a result of his inability to deal with any level of his own anger.

Didn't Jessica's top just almost come off in book 3? New plot device please.

Basically Jess is slutting it up and then has to deal with an older mustached dude who pushes her too far. Oh and there's twin switching (of course.) Totally lame. But the next one...oooh, that's a doozy!

I was an avid reader of SVH books a couple of decade ago and remember getting keenly involved in Liz'z and Jess's lives and petty troubles. But this one left me wondering why on earth I was that keen on the series. This one seemed contrived, cheesy, pointless. It didn;t give me the same pleasure I used to get earlier following the series. Maybe I've finally grown up (mentally, I mean)

Series: Sweet Valley High #5
Author: Kate William & Francine Pascal

Yes! A dramatic improvement on the last one, you want to know, because we discovered that Jessica has emotions and Elizabeth isn't perfect! I mean, Francine was giving us a touch of character development here and I am liking it. I remember book 6 very well, so lets hope it continues! In this installment, Jessica goes gallivanting
Jessica should henceforth be referred to as the Virgin Slut, or perhaps the Slut Virgin. She runs off for a weekend with some college guy and his friends at a lake and ends up stranded after cock-blocking him and causing him to destroy her cellphone in a fit of rage. (Yes, another lame 2008 rewrite, apparently.) Then she guilts Elizabeth (who apparently is much more forgiving than everyone else you've met in the prior books) into covering for her and taking some test for her, which Elizabeth bom ...more
I remember having to special order this one because my local waldenbooks never seemed to have it in stock. I also remember thinking my parents would never let me read a book with such a scandalous cover. I remember thinking the word scandalous was very sophisticated, like that slutty slutty Wakefield twin.
Curses, another reissue! Although I loved the added bit where (view spoiler)

While one of the twins learns a hard lesson in this fifth volume, this entry in the series was also harder-edged due to sexual content and profanity. Proceed with caution.

So SVH number five is about how Jessica deciding to go out with an older guy who is totally on the rapey side, at the very least if the statutory variety, but also the don't tease the pervert variety, and in the meantime making Elizabeth lie to her parents about it. All very risque fir a SVH book, but the best part ia probably the creepy moustache on Scott on the cover and the way Jessica gets pissed at her sister for not yelling at her MORE ro not go/ not to be an idiot. Two stars.

Geez, Jessica is such a bitch and Elizabeth is a pushover who lets her sister walk all over her. When will she realize that Jessica doesn't care about her? Man, I'm 23 but I love this teenage drama.

I'm pretty sure I've never read this one before. Not much about it stuck out or seemed particularly deja-vu.

So this one had a really short time line: only a week. It started on a Sunday and was over on the following Saturday. Not that that's really relevant to anything, but I just thought it was neat.

This book was also over way too fast. Like, Jessica pretty much figured out that Scott was no good almost immediately. The bulk of the novel was then Elizabeth trying to cover for Jess, as Jess wait

Ahh, book number 5, or what I like to call Jessica And The Guy With The Pornstache.

This book was pretty short, and the main conflict was over with in the first 40 pages. Jessica learns a valuable lesson here - you can't get away with teasing college guys the way you can get away teasing high school guys - at least in the world of Sweet Valley!

This book was published the month I was born, and it really makes me feel old! Maybe I'm silly for reading these, but I credit them with my love for readi

This is one of the many early Sweet Valley books where a boy goes way past a girl's boundaries, doesn't care about her protests, and tells her off for leading him on because apparently going on a date with someone is agreeing to sex. In this one, it's particularly bad, because the boy in question has an eighties pornstache.

The All Night Long part only takes up the very start of the book, with the rest of the focus being on Liz pretending to be Jess so that they can both get jobs as tour guides

I read the book "All Night Long" by Francine Pascal. This book is the fifth book in it's series. This book features to twin sisters who can never agree on anything. This time Jessica, the "naughtiness" twin is chasing a way older man, and her sister Elizabeth is very worried for her. Jessica's new man, Scott, has been known to treat girls badly but that doesn't stop Jessica. Elizabeth warners Jessica not to go on a date with scott and Jessica of course doesn't listen and this time it might cost ...more

Bad. So bad.

OMG, Jessica is dating Pornstache from Orange is the New Black!!! Look, proof!!!

This book was so horribly disgusting, like the last one, but I had to give this a one star. Seriously, Scott is so gross. But I was so surprised the authors didn't take it all the way. It's weird that they really don't mention S-E-X in any of these early books. Oh yeah, they make out and Scott slips his hands down Jess' bikini bottoms, but that's it. **Trigger warning: Are you seriously telling me that t

Jessica wants a college boy Scott Daniels, who is clearly too experienced for her. But, what Jessica wants, Jessica gets. In this case, she gets a whole lotta trouble too when she sneaks off to an all night party at a lake with college kids. She also puts her twin Elizabeth into a position where she must lie for her, cover for her, pretend to be her, and fight with her boyfriend Todd.

The only thing I will say about the book is that back then either date rape wasnt a meaningful subject or the au
Jessica is a selfish jerk to her twin sister. Jessica is dating a college boy named Scott even though she is only 16 and her parents dissaprove. Elizabeth tries to warn Jessica that Scott is too old for her but Jessica doesn't listen. Jessica goes to a beach party even though she's not supposed to and gets left to find a way back home when Scott leaves her alone in a boathouse because she didn't give him enough of herself. Jessica makes Elizabeth cover up for her by pretending to be her. Elizabe ...more

I enjoyed this book very much. Jessica is dating a sophisticated college man. Jessica can normally handle any boy that comes her way, but she looses control over Scott and soon she is in big trouble. Elizabeth being the caring big sister covers for her sister, but is it worth loosing her love, Todd. In other news the Wakefield twins are not aloud near a motorcycle, ever since their cousin died in an accident. When Todd finally has the money to buy his dream motorcycle Liz doesn't know how she wi ...more
