From 19911995, Wendy Ramer lived in Seville, Spain and Bologna, Italy, where she taught English and where her experiences would later become the inspiration for the fictional stories of Enzos Mamma and Looking for Anita.

With her M.S. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, Ms. Ramer is currently a professor in South Florida, where she lives with her husband and two children.
