During the last year of high school, the most common question is “what are you going to do with your life”. Somehow, within the span of a few months, you are supposed to figure out who you are and what career you’ll have for the rest of your life. It’s no wonder that many people go to college and change their majors several times.

I thought this was an excellent read. The interviews are the best part of this book, because it gets straight to the information that you want to know the most. Some career paths I was were considering, I now realize that are not for me after reading through this. And it also reinforced what I originally thought/believed about the one career path I am most interested in pursuing.

Insightful and thoughtful questions. Well organized. Both wide-ranging and detailed. A simple concept, but one I thought was well executed and that proved to be extremely helpful. More for a job wonderer/fulfillment seeker than a job seeker.

This book provides some honest insight about what to expect from 24 different professions. A handful of people from each field respond to questions about job fulfillment, advancement opportunity, the reality of the job vs. expectations they held as students, regrets, average number of hours worked per week, etc. Information about employment levels, academic requirements, and average salaries is also provided.
I'm still trying to sort out what I want to be "when I grow up."
