Helen Dunmore, a British author, well known for her books for children, has come out with yet another fantasy series called the Ingo series. Initially a trilogy, it soon went onto become a series with a total of 4 books. Ingo is the 1st book of the series. A fan of Harry Potter, I picked this book just by glancing at its cover…it featured a mermaid. :)

Haaah... "mimpi" itu akhirnya berakhir juga...!
Kenapa kubilang "mimpi"?
Karena ketika membaca Ingo (buku 1), aku serasa bermimpi...
Bukan mimpi ketemu kaum mer (manusia duyung), btw.
Ugh!
Tapi ya, seperti kataku itu, "mimpi"-nya habis. Selesai. Tamat.

What a wonderful end to a what turned out to be a wonderful series. I loved this book so much. Some parts were pointless and others stupid, hense the four instead of five, but the ending was so perfect I just couldn't bring myself to care too much (though I thought it fair to knock a star off anyway).
I would love to one day have a sequel to this book set maybe five or ten years in the future to see how things turn out and have a few loose ends tied up.

Mantap deh. Pas balik juga asik banget penggambaran naik lumba-lumba terbangnya.

This The Crossing of Ingo was IMO the best in the Ingo series. Although I gave this book 4 stars, I won't be putting the Ingo series on my recommended shelf, but, if you are already part way through the Ingo series then make sure you read this. I was impressed by the character development in here and a good closure for the series. I wasn't sure if I was going t...more

Only one thing kept this book from being a 5-star book for me (it's probably like 4.5 stars) - I felt like Dunmore was sort of hammering the environmentalist/ocean conservation drum a little too hard, and at times it took away from the story. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the ocean more than anything else and I'm passionate about keeping it healthy and vital. (Tip: Don't let go of your helium balloons. When they eventually deflate and come down, they kill lots of sea turtles.) But, while some of th...more

I loved the whole series and I though that in the end she told you basically what would happen if she had written another book but I still wish she would have written another book in this series at times the end should Not have been the end and was left unfinished but I still loved the series this is a great book for people when they where little dreamed of being a mermaid
So awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! I accidently read the fourth ingo series when i am supposed to read the second and the third series!!!!! I AM SUCH AN IDIOT!!!!!!! The reason why i read this book because the second book took soooooooooooooooo long to put back on the shelve!!!!!!!!! Aaaaaaaah, and i finally have gotten the book!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!! SO FANTASTIC! I love this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed the first 3 books in the Ingo series, and this one was no exception. It kept me in the world of Ingo, and I stayed up till about 2 am to finish it. Probably not smart when I had to get up at 6 the next day (or that day, since it was after 12.) I digress.
This book was spent mostly in Ingo, unlike the other books where it was back and forth. And I enjoyed that. It made the world of Ingo more alive to me, to know what it was like more, becuase Sapphy was getting to understand it be...more

This book was very adventurous, and wild. People who like suspenseful adventure, will certainly like this book!!!! I enjoyed this book the most out of all four books. The other three books I found were slightly boring, with not that much of a purpose. Most of the time I felt myself skipping chapters. I did enjoy The Crossing of Ingo though. It gripped me, and made me read more. It was ingenius, and I recommend that you read it. :)

A brilliant end(?) to the ingo trilogy, though it turned into a 4-piece series.

I was born in December 1952, in Yorkshire, the second of four children. My father was the eldest of twelve, and this extended family has no doubt had a strong influence on my life, as have my own children. In a large family you hear a great many stories. You also come to understand very early that stories hold quite different meanings for different listeners, and can be recast from many viewpoints...more
