Helen Dunmore, a British author, well known for her books for children, has come out with yet another fantasy series called the Ingo series. Initially a trilogy, it soon went onto become a series with a total of 4 books. Ingo is the 1st book of the series. A fan of Harry Potter, I picked this book just by glancing at its cover…it featured a mermaid. :)

The story is about the adventures of Connor and Sapphire, who loose their father to the world of Ingo. He is believed to have drowned but Connor a...more

Haaah... "mimpi" itu akhirnya berakhir juga...!

Kenapa kubilang "mimpi"?
Karena ketika membaca Ingo (buku 1), aku serasa bermimpi...
Bukan mimpi ketemu kaum mer (manusia duyung), btw.
Ugh!

Tapi ya, seperti kataku itu, "mimpi"-nya habis. Selesai. Tamat.

What a wonderful end to a what turned out to be a wonderful series. I loved this book so much. Some parts were pointless and others stupid, hense the four instead of five, but the ending was so perfect I just couldn't bring myself to care too much (though I thought it fair to knock a star off anyway).
I would love to one day have a sequel to this book set maybe five or ten years in the future to see how things turn out and have a few loose ends tied up.
I was left stunned and speechless. I don't k...more

This The Crossing of Ingo was IMO the best in the Ingo series. Although I gave this book 4 stars, I won't be putting the Ingo series on my recommended shelf, but, if you are already part way through the Ingo series then make sure you read this. I was impressed by the character development in here and a good closure for the series. I wasn't sure if I was going t...more

Only one thing kept this book from being a 5-star book for me (it's probably like 4.5 stars) - I felt like Dunmore was sort of hammering the environmentalist/ocean conservation drum a little too hard, and at times it took away from the story. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the ocean more than anything else and I'm passionate about keeping it healthy and vital. (Tip: Don't let go of your helium balloons. When they eventually deflate and come down, they kill lots of sea turtles.) But, while some of th...more

I loved the whole series and I though that in the end she told you basically what would happen if she had written another book but I still wish she would have written another book in this series at times the end should Not have been the end and was left unfinished but I still loved the series this is a great book for people when they where little dreamed of being a mermaid

I really enjoyed the first 3 books in the Ingo series, and this one was no exception. It kept me in the world of Ingo, and I stayed up till about 2 am to finish it. Probably not smart when I had to get up at 6 the next day (or that day, since it was after 12.) I digress.

This book was spent mostly in Ingo, unlike the other books where it was back and forth. And I enjoyed that. It made the world of Ingo more alive to me, to know what it was like more, becuase Sapphy was getting to understand it be...more

I think that the fourth book pf the Ingo series is the best(which is this book). It gives an amazing ending. After reading the series of Ingo, I simply can't get the story out of my head. Sometimes I find myself sooooo childish reading these book sbut I really like them.

This book was very adventurous, and wild. People who like suspenseful adventure, will certainly like this book!!!! I enjoyed this book the most out of all four books. The other three books I found were slightly boring, with not that much of a purpose. Most of the time I felt myself skipping chapters. I did enjoy The Crossing of Ingo though. It gripped me, and made me read more. It was ingenius, and I recommend that you read it. :)

An enjoyable finale to the series, full of high-drama and adventure. A mixture of emotions are endured throughout the series with many a revelation, making this story everything that the conclusion to such an escapade should be.

:D loved the ending on this book. Although i always wanted some romance between Faro and Sapphire, yet it never happened. Elvira annoyed me throughout this book and sometimes i wished she wasnt part of it.

AMAZING! The Ingo series is the top of my list! This is the fourth book and is excellent. Worth buying or reading. I don't want to spoil anything but take my word on it.

Brilliant story the only thing I didn't like was that I was waiting for Sapphire and Faro to get together and then they never did.

hmmm... rasanya kurang menarik dibanding seri ketiganya, The Deep. Penyelesaian akhir kurang klimaks dan terkesan mudah, padahal tadinya harapanku kisah terakhir ini akan menjadi pamungkas dari tetralogi Ingo..

Great endign tot he ingo serise. sure its sad but I loved it. I really was amazed at how it works out so neatly in the end when everything seems a complectated jumble. I loved it.

great ending to the Ingo trilogy. I had to get this one imported though the first three were available in US. Although this is a childrens book I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys mermaid or selkie tales.

sorry, but it was a very unsatisfactory conclusion. It was just too flat of an ending.

Excellent book, but the ending for the ending of all four books was a bit disappointing.

I was born in December 1952, in Yorkshire, the second of four children. My father was the eldest of twelve, and this extended family has no doubt had a strong influence on my life, as have my own children. In a large family you hear a great many stories. You also come to understand very early that stories hold quite different meanings for different listeners, and can be recast from many viewpoints...more
