I would recommend this book to any Brooklyn resident. Elliot knows his stuff, even if he writes in a cheesy, those-were-the-days manner. Lots of pictures and chapters on every neighborhood and the big cultural icons of the era like the Dodgers and the old subway lines. They never should have torn down Ebbets Field.
