This book was VERY interesting. Elisabeth Scott Bocock was very influential in Richmond during her life. The daughter of the founder of my employer, Scott & Stringfellow, I loved reading about a relative of current financial advisors in the company.

This book had an intense effect on me in multiple ways. 1. ESB herself is an almost surreally impactful character on Richmond, and her drive is inspiring to read about when your job is such that you have to work hard for what you feel is good for the city. 2. Mary Buford Hitz's writing is so clear and loving, it made me want to start chronicling important people in my life, stat.

Highly highly recommend. Particularly to Richmonders, but really to anyone.
