A picture book of different Florida souvenirs from the 40's to the 70's.

Not much reading to this book. Just a few pages about one of the authors trips to FL, How Florida became a tourist destination and what items may be worth.

The souvenirs are grouped in categorizes like alligators, mermaids, and coconuts.

While a good deal of the souvenirs are related to Florida, most are not. It looks like the majority could be picked up in any beach local.

I wish there were more souveniers, more talk of where the souveniers came from, more pictures of the cities and towns that are Florida roadside staples.

As a kid, my family spent a lot of time in Panama City Beach, Florida and a few trips to Orlando, FL. I have truly come to love Florida Kitsch, especially roadside attractions in Florida. The best ones though aren't off the interstate, but on the side roads.
