Okay, one star is harsh; maybe it's more of a 1.5. This was another LJK Book Club read (i.e. I had no choice). I don't really see the appeal; the author uses formulaic situations and stereotypical characters, rather than real character development, to elicit sympathy from the reader. Evidently this is one in a series, so perhaps many readers are already familiar with the characters, but there didn't seem to be any real depth. It doesn't help that there are simply too many characters, which makes...more

I love this cedar cove series (8th book---thus the book title).
The characters in the series are so easy to read about, even after waiting a while to read the next book (it is hard to get your hands on these at the library).
This book focuses on Pastor Fleming & his wife Emily. They are having serious financial problems, and it looks like Pastor Fleming stole jewelery from an old woman's house that he was visiting. Would he really do this, or was someone else behind the ...more

this is #8 in a series that I really like. Each book title is a different house (& family) that live in a small town. I like how all the characters have a connection & most are in each book. You should start at the beginning with 16 Lighthouse Road as the characters are introduced chronologically.

8 Sandpiper Way is the home of Pastor Dave Fleming and his wife, Emily and their two sons, Matthew and Mark. This is the eighth story in the Cedar Cove Series. It was a wonderful trip back to visit people we all love. Olivia, Jack, Grace, Cliff, and all the others related to them. It has love, tears, and even a mystery. It also leads the way to yet another visit to Cedar Cove in the next book which will be 94 and I forget what the rest of the address would be. This book was made possible t...more

It wasn't too far into this book when I realized that I was reading a part of a series--and I hadn't started at the beginning! That drives me crazy, but Macomber does (very helpfully) provide good "catch up" information. This is the eighth book in a series set in the Pacific Northwest. It's a light read, but you can't help being caught up in the characters, some of whom even show up in other series (the Dakota books). In this installment, a pastor's wife fears that her husband is havin...more

I enjoy reading Debbie Macomber because she is such an easy read. Her books take some of the same turns, but there is usually something in the book that you don't see coming. This book followed those lines. A good read and one I enjoyed reading in the car on my way to spring break.

This is yet another chapter in the soap-operaish saga of the folks from Cedar Grove. For those who haven't read these books, you can put them in order by the first number in the address that is the title; hence this is book eight. If you haven't read any of the other books, I don't think this one would hold your interest at all; the earlier books had more story resolution in them; this one just seems to catch us up to everyone, and gives us more problems, but no real resolution. For example, ...more

This book did not disappoint!!! I thought there would come a time when I would eventually tire of these books, but after reading eight of them, I am finding myself as anxious for September's release of book number nine as I was for book number two. Go Macomber!! Another fantastic book in the Cedar Cove Series.

Another book in Macomber's Cedar Cove series. It was enjoyable and nice to see what the characters are up to in the latest book. What I like is that even though the book will concentrate on one of the characters specifically, you get to see what many of them are up to. It was worthwhile reading it.

Quick beach read. This is #8 in her Cedar Cove series. Light reading but I know all these people now and I have to keep reading them to find out what's happening in their lives. :)

Good book, but I didn't like the ending in that it left you hanging on several of the characters. No big deal, I'm sure she'll catch us up in the next book in the series.

i read the rest of the books in the series, so i had to find out what happened. I have to admit....it is a gossipy soap-opera type of story...but a good story nonetheless

Another nice story about the people from Cedar Cove. This one seemed to leave more hanging than some of the others, so I am looking forward to the 9th book in the series.
