This installment just didn't engage me like the others did. It wasn't bad in that I doubt Robb could ever write s bad In Death book but I didn't enjoy it as I did the others.
It may be entirely my fault, though. I brought it along to read during a weekend seminar retreat and was just too busy to concentrate on the book. I was tired and constipated and Eve really irked me in this book.

Book Review: 2 Treasure Boxes
This book has lots going on, but the main focus is on finding and stopping a terrorist group. At the same time she must also deduce who is behind this group and bring them down. Intertwined in this investigation Eve must help Peabody’s brother, who has become a murder suspect. Loyalty in Death is book nine in JD Robb's In Death series. In this book Eve is tracking down a terrorist group, whose plot is to take out popular tourist attractions in New York City. Also a couple of dead bodies have turned up and Eve has been assigned their case. Meanwhile, Peabody's brother is visiting New York for the first time and he gets tangled up in one of the murder investigations.

Book # 63 of 2010
This is probably going to be the last book I read in 2010... unless I can eeke out another one tomorrow? I've got some homework, but its not pressing, yet, so maybe...
This one was a little bit different. At least in that Dallas is up against some terrorists and mass murder instead of serial killer kind of thing. The edition I have has the Twin Towers displayed on the cover, which was a little weird when I noticed it (actually, I guess the last one, " More...

The series comes back up to par with this one. One of the most disturbing things about reading Loyalty in Death is knowing that it was written prior to 9/11 - reading about terrorists destroying The Pentagon and the Twin Towers being a potential bombing target left a dark queasiness in the pit of my stomach.
Eve has consistently been a difficult character to like, but I have to say that I found her particularly unlikable for the better part of this book. Just when I thought Nora Robe More...

Loyalty in Death has one of the best endings in so far in the series! It kept me on my toes and got my heart jackhammering in my chest! But before I talk about the ending, let’s start from page one...
My favourite cop, Lieutenant Eve Dallas has a murder case where a wife has literally screwed her husband over. When Lisbeth literally drills her cheating husband to a wall with one of his power tools, Eve doesn’t think her life could get worse. But then she starts getting the More...

So, I was going to patiently wait until the next books came through but then I got book 10 from the library before I got books 7, 7.5, 8, and 9. After waiting patiently for 2 weeks, I finally took matters into my own hands and drove to two other Libraries to collect them all because 10 has to be back in 3 dyas! I'm telling you this because it could be the over-exposure but the mysteries just haven't been doing it for me in the last few books. And EVe is even getting on my nerves. The way she a

A terrorist group by the name of Cassandra is bombing NYC. Eve Dallas must decipher the taunting letters and try to stop this group. They are killing thousands of people and seem to have no remorse. Dallas must save the people and the landmarks of the city.
A wealthy tools & toy manufacturer is killed by his jealous girlfriend(Lizabeth). She seems to get off light and Dallas still continues the investigation hoping to find some fault in Lizabeth's story. In the meantime Peabody's brot More...

I was very hesitant to start this book. I didn't particularly enjoy "Conspiracy in Death". I've been getting the books from the library and I'll usually check out a couple at a time reading one after the other. It took me a long time to pick up this book. I had to renew it at the library because I just couldn't bring myself to start it right after "Conspiracy in Death". I was worried that the series was taking a turn and I wouldn't be able to get back into it. I'm glad that I

In this novel Eve and Roarke must collaborate once again to get to the bottom of a terrotist plot.
Some right wing group called "CASSANDRA" is bombing well known tourist spots and most of them are owned by Roarke.(of course) Roarke will utilize his shady ways to get the classified information needed to catch the people responsible.
All the while, Eve is also investgating another murder of the owner of a well known toy and tool campany. It seems straight forward, angry lover More...

While I still enjoyed reading this Eve Dallas book, it wasn't as good as the last couple that I'd read. The story bounced around quite a bit, so it took awhile for me to get the thread of the plot. Plus I pegged "whodunnit" pretty early on, just because the whole set-up seemed convenient. And I have to admit, Peabody's brother did nothing for me... he was just kind of boring! Also, while I like when Eve and Roarke fight a bit, the extreme fight they had in this book just made me sa

Nggak sabar mau cepat2 baca. Aku beli edisi Indonesia-nya. Fresh from GM.
We are Cassandra...... begitu 'mereka' menyebut diri mereka di surat2 ancaman yang diterima Dallas.

A bit of a carpentry themed Eve Dallas book from Robb, with our initial murder being done with a drill, and Peabody's gentle carpenter brother heading to the big city. There's also a mad anti-government lot bombing the hell out of buildings and irritating Roarke because, goddamn it, they're his buildings. Naturally, both carpenters and bombers are connected, because every case that Eve looks at is connected to each other, apparently. All is well in the end, with the crazy bombing people prope

This was a first-time read also. I absolutely knew that you couldn't trust that woman! I didn't like her from the beginning- glad to know that my instincts are so spot-on. ;) Also, I love that Eve no longer has a nice car. Her never-ending battle with electronics and cars leaves me amused in every book. It really lightens up the atmosphere in books with dark, sometimes sad, crimes.
And, of course, I loved that Peabody and McNab finally acted on all of that annoyance and tension in su More...

Wow! This one was gripping! Always love the In Death books, but Loyalty in Death was really good!
A group calling themselves 'Cassandra' was threatening New York city, it's monuments and all it's people, and that doesn't sit well with Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her team of Homicide cops. They threatened to demonstate their power, and succeeded in bombing an abandoned warehouse which just happened to belong to Roarke. Then things got worse, much worse, and the death toll rose significan More...

Adrenaline-charged and absolutely capturing, to the very end!
When I first heard of these series, I was all about not reading a thirty-something (and still growing) books story. When I started them, I was riveted but unable to fathom reading them all. As of late, though, I cannot stop myself from coming back to these books. I have even put reading others in between a couple of these as a way to keep myself from tiring from them, but instead I cannot seem to like the others and jump righ More...

This book followed Eve Dallas into uncomfortable territory as instead of dealing with individual murders, she was dealing with terrorist attacks and mass murders. When one of her informants tells her that a person of interest has been found dead floating in a river at the same time that a well-known businessman is drilled to the wall by his girlfriend, Dallas believes she is working on 2 different cases. She is then contacted by a group known only as Cassandra who say they are going to start blo

This is the 9th book in the In Death series.
It is February 2059. A paramilitary group calling themselves Cassandra contacts Eve with instructions of their demands and a demonstration of their might. Minutes after arriving at the address provided by Cassandra, abandoned warehouse owned by Roarke, Eve is a witness to (and almost victim of) its destruction. The building is blown up, literally disintegrated.

Lives up to expectations – which where sky high. We learn a bit more about Peabody, who is beginning an interesting relationship of her own in this one, and Eve and Roarke are as sexy and intense as usual. The mystery is even better than in many of the previous novels of the series. Excellent, excellent stuff. This is a series best read in order, since most of the enjoyment is in the relationship between Eve and Roarke and the developing relationships with the interesting cast of secondary chara

Masih cumi ma temen. Makin lama ni serial makin keren aja. Well, dari gambar cover yang Patung Liberty dan baca beberapa bab awal, aku udah ngeh kalo ni patung bakal jadi sasaran bom grup Cassandra. Sepanjang baca terus penasaran kapan terjadinya.
Waah, akhirnya kejadian juga tuh McNab ma Peabody... udah ketebak sih, gimana mereka berdua, ternyata di seri ini terjadi. Rada penasaran di buku berikutnya gimana ama hubungan mereka.

I think it would be fairly easy for me to rate the rest of the books in this series; I have not disliked one yet and they seem to earn a fairly consistent 4 stars with me. For those who believe that multiple stories featuring the same main characters can't help but become boring at some point, let me put those fears to rest. Roarke and Eve are complex and another layer or two gets peeled away with each succeeding book and this is one reader who is far from bored.

This is number 10 in the Death Series about Detective Eve Dallas with her hunky husband Roarke.
This is not as good as the last one I read, I think it went longer than it needed to but it was an okay read. I love the interaction between Dallas and Roarke.
A radical group called "Cassandra" starts bombing the city, starting with buildings that belong to Roarke. Dallas flies into action along with her aide Peabody - eventually they save the day but not before a lot deat

I really enjoyed “Loyalty in Death”, even though it was published 10 years ago
I found it very pertinent to today. Eve and Rourke must face off a radical
political organization which is terrorizing New York with connections to a
group of terrorists that is (or was), considered defunct. As Eve cuts through
the radical ideology she finds that there is a far simpler reason for all the
bombings; plain greed. Now she must find out who.

45% done- That girl better not be playing himm. -__- If she's part of Cassandra I will personally beat her up. I'm not sure how I'd go about beating up a fictional character, but I will find a way.
One of the very few times I was right about the bad guys. Goddamnit, I didn't want them to be part of the group. hweoufnofueheof.
Loved that Eve got Roarke that dingy, dying, rose! All I could was "awwweeee" while reading the part she gives it to him.

beruntungnya Letnan Eve Dallas..

I understand that the series is currently at 30 some odd books. I wonder how can it keep interesting for that long? But then I pick up the next in the series. I'm instantly enthralled by the characters continued growth and development. This is maybe my favorite so far. Peabody still gets the best lines, Roarke is still too perfect, and Eve still kicks ass.
Good fun and a good read.
