In order to secure a contract, Spence Tyack needed a wife for a week. A wife he could show in public, and bed in private. But who could fill the position? Certainly not his buttoned-down, efficient assistant, Sadie Morrissey?
But Spence was in for a big surprise. It seemed Sadie was ready to step into the role; and not only was...more

Such a fantastic read, really liked Sadie-Spencer,both are in love but cause Spencer has suffered emotionally by his parents which left him thinking he is just not good enough,he does'nt believes in love after being jilted by Emily he is more adamant now and Sadie who has known Spencer all her life loves him but Spencer has always acted as he only sees her as his friend,Spencer also feels attraction towards Sadie but being warned off by Danny he keeps away but then Emily jilts him and he is shatt...more

Highly-organized & efficient office asst is shocked to find out that her 1-day marriage 4 yrs ago to her boss & longtime friend (who she's been in love with for a long time) was not terminated after all. She agrees to pretend to be happily married to him for 1 week for sake of his business deal. She's also open to making their 1 week together meaningful before their divorce is finalized & she moves elsewhere. Hero is bothered with realization that she's still his wife & has hard...more

As I usually do with Anne McAllister's works, I enjoyed this book. I don't know if it's because I've been glomming on her books like crazy for awhile, or if it was something about the book, but this was a slow (not-very-compelling) read. It's a friends-to-lovers story, which I love, and the characters were nice. The only concrete thing I can think of that bothered me didn't come till quite late in the book, and that was the final conflict. (view spoiler)...more

Spence Tyack has one passion, his business.
Sadie is his first employee and the top assistant. They grew up together and Sadie's older brother is Spence's best friend from high school. Small world. Sadie has always been in love with Spence and has waited for him to notice that she is a woman and not just an employee.
Well, there is a marriage scenario that is really ridiculous that I will not spoil here, but to sum it all up, they are still married (and have been for four years!) after a one-night...more

An easy, enjoyable read. My one issue was the flow of her thoughts into his and vice versa. A little confusing sometimes.

it was an ok read, nice but isn't something that really captures the imagination or attention.

I needed a book with a unit of time in the title for a monthly challenge. So to the pile of Harlequins my mother gave me I went.

It was decent. Not terrible. Not great. However, Spence was too much of an ass to be likable. Sadie was too much of a doormat for too long to be really likable.

It wasn't that I didn't like it. It was just that it was only OK. There's nobody I would recommend this to as 'you would really like this book'. But I wouldn't try to stop anyone either. Somewhere between two and...more

I really loved this kind of sweet loving story. More to it, they've known each other for years (more like best friends) and they're boss and assistant! Theme I kinda loved!
So Saddie had been in love with Spence for years, but of course, Spence saw her as his best friend' sister, and his very loyal employee. Little did he realized that Saddie had played a very important role in his life. Of course at first he didn't realized it, and when he did, he denied it. Until Saddie decided to take the fir...more

Wonderful wonderful book, well written and paced, emotionally engaging, unexpected, the only thing I would tweek is the pacing in the last fifty pages because it feels a little rushed but over all I would highly recommend it
