Having heard Dr. Robert Smith lecture, and then reading this book, I found it to be as fascinating as his lectures. In fact, it is a textbook that seems to follow his lectures, in my opinion. Yet, it is not so academic that it becomes a chore to read and understand. The information contained within the book helps one to put the Bible into perspective. Not from the perspective of the 21st century, but in the context of when it was "written". Those who wish to understand the Bible as it is ...more
