Syria is so rich in archaeological treasures from so many different civilizations that things can quickly become muddled in my mind. This book is FANTASTIC and helps sort things out with detailed descriptions of all sites of interest. Includes historical background and significance paired with descriptions of salient architectural features. A guest once absconded (inadvertently?) with my old scruffy copy so I immediately replaced with a new one.
