Only for the beginner. Once you become more advanced and look into grammar more, you'll realise how much this book has simplified russian grammar. I didn't like this. There is nothing on participles, and the declensions are too simplistic. You'll have learn some new ones once you get onto more advanced grammar.

But that said, I bought it for the sake of getting introduced to the grammar and language by ear. Its fulfilled that purpose fine.

Just finishing a 6 week study of Oxford's Take off in Russian. It's been an interesting journey which will no doubt have it's rewards with the next Russian attempt.

This package is excellent for the ultimate beginners, who have never gotten in contact with the language. Not only did I really take off in Russian, but the good start the kit provided made me want to go on with my learning of this great language.
I would highly recommend it for those who don't know where to start their study of Russian mainly because the grammar is introduced gradually, in very little amounts, so you never feel that there is too much for you to deal with at a time.
