This book is one mom wanted me to read once she was done with it, so I've picked it up, and am about 4 or 5 chapters into it. So far, it's looking really great! I'll let you all know more once I have finished it myself.

Parts of this book were good for me, such as taking each thought captive to Christ and getting rid of things in the home that serve as negative spiritual strongholds. This part of his family history questionnaire really bothered me, though, and continues to bother me when I think back on reading this book three years later: "Was your father clearly the head of the home, or was there a role reversal in which your mother ruled the home? Explain."

Now, I think there is such a ...more

Response: Eye-opening and good reminders about the enemy’s involvement in this world, but without giving him too much credit. Revealed that his main tactic is convincing people to be scared of him, but once light is shined, he turns out to have no power. Good point about how the enemy first tempts and then accuses.

Great discussion of spiritual warfare. Anderson peppers Scripture throughout virtually every paragraph, so you know this isn't just his opinion or some technique he developed. He gives a great foundation for understanding our identity in Christ and how to resist and rebuke the enemy.

What I have read in this book is eye opening. I didn't realize the many different things that go on in the spiritual world. I was never taught the things they teach you. I really like the book so far.

This book is amazing. It is eye-opening. It is an introduction to spiritual warfare and the ways in which the devil and his minions plant lies in our minds, get us to believe things about ourselves that aren't true. It is when we believe those lies and act on them that we sin.

There is a spiritual battle going on for your mind. But fear not! The war has already been won by the living God! He wants you to be free of the lies of the devil. He wants you to be free of negative though...more

This is a very powerful book for anybody who is struggling with sin and bad habits, negative mindsets and false perceptions of who we really are in Christ.

[Why does the title of this book have to be obnoxious on Goodreads? On christianbook.com, it is simply "The Bondage Breaker, New Edition."]

lives up to it's title. so glad i read it! in this book, neil anderson tells story after story of people suffering with bondage of sins or evil spiritual influences on their lives and the process used to finally be free. it's over-simplifying it to say there is a formula to deal with evil spirits and sins in our lives which keep coming back over and over even after committed prayer. ...but, it really is that simple. he breaks it down into seven steps called the 'steps to freedom' which are ...more

This book was just what I needed! I have to say that I will need to read it again just because there was so much good information and direction in this book. I'm thankful to have found this book. A must read for every christian.

A wonderfully helpful book for people who have been exposed (and/or who have exposed themselves) to unwanted spiritual influences. Not all of our problems are rooted in spiritual warfare - but when they are, the guidance of this book (based on longterm ministry to people suffering spiritual oppression) is invaluable!

Surely a favorite. Needs to be read with an open and critical mind. Opened my perspective on many psychological disorders in a christian view. The side by side teachings from Bible was a valuable resource. Incredibly dense and plan on using this book as a tool for the rest of my life.

Wonderful! An excellent introduction to spiritual warfare, a subject I know little about but need to know more. I especially appreciate his approach which doesn't separate our physical and emotional sides from our spiritual side. All aspects of our lives are connected and need healing.

This is a great book with a lot of great insight, but it's taking me forever to get through it all. It's a lot of really heavy stuff!
