What an enjoyable quick audiobook! A nice mix of short fairy tales from the Grimms' collection. I haven't read any of these particular stories, although I am familiar with plot devices and archetypes from more than a few of them. The narrator was great. She brought these stories to life. There is also classical music to accompany parts of the stories. I could see this audiobook being very good for kids to expose them to fairy tales. They would enjoy the stories and the narrator's different voice ...more

children's audio/grimm fairytales. Though Laura Paton's narration was great, the tales themselves are rather lackluster, and I wouldn't expect this to hold the attention of an actual child (though probably fine for adults who are into these sort of audio tales).

Jacob Ludwig Karl Grimm, German philologist, jurist and mythologist, was born at Hanau, in Hesse-Kassel (or Hesse-Cassel). He is best known as the discoverer of Grimm's Law, the author of the monumental German Dictionary, his Deutsche Mythologie and more popularly, with his brother Wilhelm, as one of the Brothers Grimm, as the editor of Grimm's Fairy Tales.
