I received this book as part of a Goodreads Firstreads promotion. Headlong by Lucien Romano is an enjoyable science fiction book. I loved the first line in the first chapter "You never know when will be the last time that you do something". All Annaliese wanted to do that day was climb a mountain.... The first chapter captures the readers attention and pulls them into the story line.
Great set of characters and very well written.
Magdalena Hernas
A terrifying and breathtaking thriller-cum-sci-fi which dares to reveal the truth about the dark forces world in which we live. A truly gripping storyline, startling turns of the plot, and well-developed, rounded characters. Complete with a breath-taking denouement that makes Headlong impossible to put down. A master storyteller. Can’t wait for the next book!

A thoroughly enjoyable read, starts with a bang and never lets up. Romano's written an exciting story about a family far from home that's full of original ideas. This book is a welcome addition to my science fiction collection. Highly recommended for sci-fi aficionados and newcomers alike.

Lucien Romano was born in Brisbane and has recently moved back there after many years in Edinburgh. Writers such as H.G. Wells, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell & John Brunner kindled his interest in the future, while the inspiration for his writing is today's global situation. His aim is to convince readers that these events could actually happen. Why invent a fictional world, when the real one ...more
