Rather than giving one method for studying the Bible, this book presents twelve. Warren's methods are easy to understand and as a result I'm gaining more practical insight into the Scriptures than ever before. I use the Devotional Method every day and each day I walk away from my Bible study with something I can do to make a change in my life for God. I also used the Chapter Summary Method with 1 Corinthians 13 and as a result of the insights and the actions I've taken, I've become a more loving...more
This is a great way to find other ways to read the Bible, so you can get out of a rut if you are in one. Sometimes ya just need a fresh way to approach studying the Bible so you don't immediately sigh the second you think about cracking open your bible and digging into the word. :) Just bein' honest....

Jen and I were talking about studying the Bible and I mentioned to her this book by Rick Warren. She says, "That's the book we're using for our class!" You see how God works? Who would have known that this book is being used as a text book for a high school bible study class. It's awesome. Read it.
I Love this book. I teach Sunday School and what a great reference to show you how to study God's word.
Good introduction and overview of methods and resources needed for studying--as opposed to just reading--the Bible.
Has some really great ideas on getting closer to God's Word and has helped in the growth of my relationship with God. Time well spent. Will refer back to this often.
I have only read a little bit of the book thus far and am currently using the "Chapter Summary" technique to study Nahum. I will update the rating as I read more.
I'm using this as a reference for the Wed. night adult Bible Study... it's lotsa info in one spot. And... it's making my time in the Word extra fun!
I really enjoyed the variety of study techniques that Warren listed.
