Gripping account of the retaliation met out on this obscure town as revenge for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich.

I read this forty years ago and am still mesmerized how the SS went in and completely wiped this town off the face of the Earth. In order to cover up the crime, they went as far as to reroute the river.

For those who don’t think the Holocaust happened, you obviously haven’t read this work.

Five stars.

Good, readable, short overview of the revenge destruction of the innocent Czech village of Lidice in response to the assassination of the Nazi overlord of conquered Czechoslovakia in 1942. Another indictment of Hitler and the Nazi ideology. This story should never be forgotten.
