Kathryn Judson
A interesting series of stories about life in the mountains of West Virginia a hundred years ago, based on the real life adventures (and misadventures) of a Mennonite missionary family and their sometimes-colorful neighbors. It features a fair bit on how people 'made do' with very little, and before modern conveniences.
Debbie
the somewhat fictionalized story of Rhine Benner, Mennonite missionary to West Virginia
