In the Eyes of the Law tells the story of Forrest Teel's murder by Connie Nicholes in Indianapolis in the 1950's and the trial that followed. The story is interesting in that it was a big trial for something rather commonplace now (a man killed by his mistress). The trial portion gets a little slow, and Faulconer sometimes goes too in-depth for the needs of the book. I read this book mostlly because my grandparents knew Forrest Teel, and the murder came as a shock to those who knew him.
This one was very interesting to me as it was an older, unknown crime and also took place in Indianapolis, Indiana where I grew up. Today it is an all too common crime for someone to be murdered by someone they were having an affair with. In 1958 it wasn't. It was an early crime that captured the world.
