Not just anyone can visit Broken Heart, Oklahoma, especially since all the single moms—like me, Patsy Donahue—have been turned into vampires. I’m forever forty, but looking younger than my years, thanks to my new (un)lifestyle. And even thought most of my customers have skipped town, I still manage to keep my hair salon up and running because of the lycanthropes prowling a ...more

I enjoyed this book. However, if you haven't read "Don't Talk Back to Your Vampire" and "I'm The Vampire, That's Why", you won't find it quite as funny. This series of vampire novels are hilarious. They feature the stories of working single mothers whose town of Broken Heart, Oklahoma suffered an attack by rogue vampires. The Consortium (good vamps) came in on the heels of the rogues and saved those they could. Now Broken Heart is the first ever paranormal town.

I find these hilarious because th

A human Paranormal investigator finds herself caught in the middle of a paranormal battle saved by a vampire and kissed by a dragon lady before her death. *That was only the first day. She is taken by the "others" to be studied, she seems to have collected some of the dragons powers and her vampire savior did as well. There is an extreme lust going on between the two, it's flaming things up in smoke. She remains a captive, while danger surrounds the compound. One dragon wants her powers, and an ...more

To be honest, this book was not good. It seemed as though someone published the outline for the book, rather than bothering to actually write it. Maybe the editors set a page limit and cut 1/3 of the original writing. I don't know, but the result was bad. Half of the book is dedicated to explaining the history of vampires, and the other half to the epic unfolding of a phophesy that makes hairdresser Eva the queen of vampires. Which leaves about 10 pages total for her romance with werewolf Gabrie ...more

The third book in the Broken Hearts Vampire Series.

The town of Broken Heart, Oklahoma is not your average town. After 11 of it's population were attacked on the same night and all turned vampire - the town underwent a shift to a Paranormal Community.

This book features another one of the 11 that were turned - the town hair stylist Patsy Donahue. Patsy is kind of bored now that she is a vampire. She doesn't have to worry about bills since the consortium paid off everyone's mortgages and pretty mu

Mmm. I need to save most of my comments for the book club but I will say a few things. I started out not really enjoying the tone of the book, kind of silly and fluffy-what I didn't like about the Sookie Stackhouse book I read. I continued to give it a whirl since that was the premise of the book club-light reading. I enjoyed it enough, I especially liked the back story on the creation of the vampires, and some of the myths used. Not sure how much was based on research and how much was made up, ...more

Patsy Donahue is just your normal beautician in Broken Heart, Oklahoma. Oh wait, she's not. She's a single mom beautician with a alchoholic druggie son who's a vampire. Not to mention she can see ghosts, talk to them, and pretty much make a zombie army. Let's not forget that there is one sexy werewolf-vampire named Gabriel who is hot and dangerous, and wants Patsy as his mate. Well, what the hell? She binds with him and truly loves him. But, Patsy figures out she's supposed to rule the vampires ...more

Ms. Bardsley has rapidly become one of my favorite authors. When I read one of her books, I know that I'm going to laugh until I cry. Her characters get into absurd situations that always make you think "what could they possibly get into next?"

Because Your Vampire Said So is a real page turner! I read it cover to cover in less than 3 hours and would happily read it again - and again - and, well, I'll probably read it a few hundred times until the book falls apart and I have to buy a new copy.

I picked this book out only because it was available immediately from my library as an e-book, and I wanted free books to try out on my new Barnes & Noble nook over my vacation. But the writing was so bad I had to stop reading.

It felt like a book outline or else the speed-written first draft that never actually got fully written. I found bits of it funny and amusing, but since I hadn't read book 1 or 2, the characters (which were more like character sketches than fleshed-out, fully formed c

another series bites the dust. i didnt have high hopes for this series-i expected a quick funny read. the first one gave me exactly that. sadly i think the author may have spent all her energy (and to be honest maybe even all her talent) on the first one. Other than the well developed vampire mythology i really didnt find anything good to say about this one. the heroine is bland with no real redeemable qualities. im not opposed to a heroine who lives in a trailer and has no formal education but ...more

The Broken Heart Vampire Series is a quick, fun-filled read and this is a series you just cannot pass up. You will enjoy every page until the very end.

In BECAUSE YOUR VAMPIRE SAID SO, we have single mother Patsy who runs a beauty parlor as our heroine. I admit I did not like Patsy as well as Jessica and Eva, but she was still a fun character.

Patsy is having some trouble. Patsy has a not so good relationship with her teenage son who is apparently turning out like her ex-husband, a druggy and she

Too annoyed to look for something else to read, trying my damnest to enjoy it, still not studying, free-falling into a pit of depression. Results:I just wasted 5 hours of my life I will never get back.

I liked this even less than the last one! Why you ask? let's review shall we:

1.Gabriel. He is a hunk, he is a loup-sang, he has the hots for Patsy... end of character development. Yeah that's it he's completely flat. He isn't even big hero material as he seems more trusty canine sidekick than con

The Setting -- is still Broken Heart, Oklahoma. You see a lot of Patsy's hair salon and her trailer and a few other places you may or may not recall from a previous book.

The Characters -- are still as endearing as ever. I really did like Patsy; then again I grew up knowing this type of character in real life, so I had an excellent mental video of what Patsy was doing and how much hell she was raising. Her love interest, Gabrielle, didn't impress me as much as I would have liked. I will say that

What is the book about?
Patsy, forty-year-old single mom and hair stylist, is a vampire now. She has her hands full figuring out how to deal with her new lack of clients now that there are so few humans in Broken Heart, and with her rebellious sixteen-year-old son, Wilson. Wilson’s an emotional mess with a drug problem, not unlike his alcoholic father, and Patsy has no idea how to handle him.

Suddenly all of that seems so simple by comparison when she finds herself targeted by demons and ancient

Review of Broken Heart Series by Michele Bardsley:

Welcome to Broken Heart, OK, home to Vampires, Blood Wolves, Shifters, Fae, Dragons and Werewolves. The Broken Heart series focuses on the Paranormals in the city. I would hate to be a kill joy. I have to say this was not my favorite series after book four. The first four books were great and I enjoyed them. They were a little one note in the first person department but the stories surrounding each female were fun and

What I Loved: I am really digging this world setup in Broken Heart. While these books are definitely fun and campy, they do manage to bring light to some very important topics: 1rs book-infidelity, 2nd book-teenage pregnancy, and this one Drug/Alcohol addiction. Michele has done a wonderful job of mixing the humor, vamp/werewolf/hybrid goodness, and some awareness in her books. Plus, she mentions the show Supernatural in this book (great taste there LOL)

What I Liked: I really enjoyed all the sec

Because Your Vampire Said So by Michele Bardsley is book three in the Broken Heart Series of what I call chick-lit-paranormal genre.
When you're immortal, being a mom won't kill you it will only make you stronger
This book's central character is Patsy Donahue. Patsy owns the local hair salon and surprisingly has kept it open even though all the non-vampires have left town. Patsy has been kept busy thanks to all the werewolves in the town. The werewolves know how important grooming is of course. Th

This is a fun, light, fast read style series. Good as a pick-me-up if you're in a reading rut.

So, what happens when 11 single moms/dads get turned into vamps overnight? The Consortium moves in and takes care of you. Of course all the humans have to move out of town, except for your family.

So what do you do if you own & run the local hairdressers, with no customers? You start catering to all the werewolves that have moved to town.

Patricia, one of the eleven, has a rebellious teenage son doing

"Because Your Vampire Said So" is the third installment of Michele Bardsley's Broken Heart Vampire series. Like the other two books, this one mashes together humor, adventure and romance into the book. Like the other two it comes out successful. With this story you also get a look into the history of the Ancients as Patsy gathers their powers. That was a nice break since the Consortium have been a bit too mysterious and this was a good way to venture a bit into their stories.

Of the 2 previous books i have read, this one rocks on the plot. It totally has something to do with a hot werewolf/vampire, some hawt scenes, and most of all some kick-ass super powers, that's plural!

The story contains some actions, drama that makes me respect our heroine and like her more, some intereting prophecy and naming of queen.

*sigh i always have a knack for queens and extra-ordinary powers. It felt like this book pushed the whole series to a whole new level.

Because Your Vampire Says So is the third book in Michele Bardsley's Broken Heart, Oklahoma series. Patsy Donahue, newly turned vampire and hairdresser, is adjusting to the changes in Broken Heart while dealing with a teenager. When the Consortium decides that Patsy needs the protection of the lycanthropes prowling around, things really begin to heat up. Of course, that heat may be coming from the sparks that fly when Gabriel and Patsy are together.

Broken Heart, Oklahoma has been bought by a consortium so it can be the home to supernatural beings. In one night 12 single parents were turned into vampires by a vampire who was suffering from an illness know as The Taint Patsy was one of them.

Michelle Bardsley’s take on vampires is different yet again to others. There are 7 ancients who have different powers, they rule the vampire world but there is a prophesy that says a turn blood will become queen and rule the supernatural world bringing th

I love this series. I had to skip over book number 2 but was not confused as each book tells a completely different story about a new person in Broken Heart. There is not a lot of information given to confuse a reader about who is who or how that person came to be, etc. It is a very easy read. I can get them done in a day maybe two if I have a lot going on that day. Bardsley doesn't bother with a love/hate relationship, most of the time it is instant attraction. I can't stand 50 -100 pages of de ...more
