This is one of my most beloved books. Mostly, I will admit, because it was a gift from my grandmother and it's one of the few links to my Ukrainian heritage she passed on to me.

This is a collection of four Russian fairy tales accompanied by gorgeous illustrations. The tales are written in very spare prose and have a lyric quality to them. The illustrations are simply amazing. So many colors and details!
