one of the essays in this anthology (or at least I think it was this one?) is entirely on Clarissa and rape law in the eighteenth century, which ughhhhh on the one hand, I'm kind of relieved because looking up eighteenth-century rape trials is no one's idea of a fun time. on the other hand, it's sort of like, HEY THAT WAS MY IDEA TOO. oh well.

overall: extremely useful especially for feminist crit
