A highly readable and witty book from an anthropologist, miracles abound! Van Der Elst offers his take on the three basic questions of anthropology: who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? ~ and I'd say he's sort of like the H.L. Mencken of anthropology - he even quotes H.L. in one of the chapters, so he's obviously got some there there.
