Although this book is WAY TOO LONG, you can't leave it alone. It's the (I guess mainly accurate) and amazing story of Helene de Champlain, who was married off by her parents to Samuel de Champlain when she was only 12, in exchange for shares in Champlain's fur trade monopoly in New France. Who knew that Ile Ste Helene, in Montreal, was named after her.

J'ai trouve ce livre assez interessant mais il était terriblement long pour son contenu. Il y a tellement de retrouvailles qu'il semble improbable qu'elles puissent être encore secrètes. En tant que livre historique, la transition entre les faits et la romance n'est pas fluide. En fin de compte, je recommanderait ce livre a qui cherche plus une romance qu'un livre a saveur historique.

Good story, sometimes I couldn't put it down. The story got a bit repetitive and boring after a while but I'll still be reading the next book.
