It is the 1960's, the golden age of rock and a world where almost all communication is from person to person. Now imagine 20 years later, it is the 1980's, the internet has just been created and the computer is quite new, the internet is a new form of communication which allows you to communicate and connect with computers all across the globe. Now imagine another 20 years later, it is the year 2000, a new millennium and so far, the world has modernized drastically, computer mouses...more
not including a list, but focusing on the reading and writing of meaning is very important for the definition to be universally applicable. many have found that problematic, i find it refreshing.
Dated but seminal work; Gilster apparently coined the term "digital literacy"--or at least hazarded an early definition of it.
