I started reading this book because I was interested in reading something that explained the Trinity. I go to a website where people debate issues like the existence of God, the doctrine of Christ, the doctrine of the Trinity, etc. Well, one fellow who called himself a Christian said that he did not believe in the Trinitarian model of God and that Jesus was simply a created being who was not equal with God. His position really threw me for a loop because I had never met anyone who believed such More...

James White writes, in the first chapter of The Forgotten Trinity, that "Most Christians do not understand what the term [The Trinity] means and have only a vague idea of the reality it represents", and it's true. I've been attending church all my life, and though I've sat through numerous sermons on God and the Father and Jesus Christ, it's very rare for the preachers of the churches I frequent to delve deeper into the topic of the Holy Spirit or the Trinity.

This is a truly excellent popular-level exposition of the Trinity, but ultimately not what I had hoped it would be. White does a masterful job of clearly illustrating exegetically both what the Trinity is as well as why we believe in it. I remain largely in the dark, however, as to why the doctrine is as important as it is and what the philosophical and practical implications of it are.

Excellent book on the subject of the trinity! Deep yet readable, it is accessible to readers without theological training.

There is something about studying the Trinity that inspires me. White does a good job of laying out this important doctrine.

This is fantastic. White has written a very accessible book on the Trinity for the average churchgoer. I am a Senior undergraduate theology major at Union University, yet was still able to learn key insights concerning the functionality of the Trinity. My only criticism is White's frequent use of Greek passages. He does a very good job (in my opinion) of explaining the Greek text for the English reader, but for someone who has had no training in Greek, it could prove to be sluggish reading.

This is an excellent, clearly written book on a often-misunderstood topic. It's written on a popular level so it can be understood by the layman. As usual White is clear and concise in his writing with the goal to push people to worship and not just to be equipped to discuss and argue.

To date, this is the best treatment I've found on the subject. It is a very readable book. I recommended this more than once when I was working in books.
