4.5 out of 5 rounded up. Do you believe in love at first sight? (I do now!)
I adored this book! It was very relatable and proves that true love can be stumbled upon by accident. *feels*
The writing style, almost in the format of a play, was very unique and really added to my love of "Voices".
I loved all of the characters ; Isabel was a great protagonist, she never once got annoying and Duncan was so sweet and such a genuinely lovely guy.
This book was a wonderful blend of cliche, humor and origina

VOICES is about Isabel Bright who has just been dumped by her boyfriend Jamie, whilst on holiday, her sister jokes they should send a message in a bottle to the rest of the "fish" out there. Isabel is pleasently surprised when a letter turns up for her from a guy called Duncan, he recieved her message and thought he'd reply.
They begin writing to each other by letter which eventually leads into emailling.
Follow Isabel's journey of drama, hanging out with friends, becoming on of the leads in Willi

This book was great. I like how it was written, the story was seperated into many scenes like a play, for example: Writing Act I Scene i as a chapter heading. The way it was written is good not only because its clear, its also related to the main character,Isabel. Its related to her because Isabel loves acting and most of the book talks about her rehearsals, with her school's cast. The story is mostly said through Isabel's eyes, but Mayfield makes it more interesting when she ocasionally switch ...more
The best book I have ever read!!!!!!!! EVER!!!!

Even for a YA book this was awful. The characters were unlikeable, the writing was poor and the constant jump between each characters POV was confusing. The whole idea of the story being compared to The Tempest was laughable as this story had absolutely no depth whatsoever. Each time the protagonist spoke, I cringed and her ignorance about her boyfriend was just irritating. Not even suitable for a light summer novel. Avoid.

It was very ordinary not with an exeptional story. I found it boring.

I was born in 1963 in the north east of England and lived for the whole of my childhood in a place called Cullercoats, which is on the coast, about ten miles east of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. As a child I loved the sea and being outdoors and spent most of the time I wasn’t at school riding ponies and getting muddy. (I’m still at my happiest when wearing my wellies.) I loved school and was a dreadful sw ...more
