Zombie Cows is the second book in the Agent Amelia series, a collection of chapter books originally published in the UK that are now making their way to the US thanks to Lerner Publishing Group. Each book in the series contains three episodes in which Amelia Kidd, a child secret agent, must fight evil and ego-maniacal villains who want to take over the world. In this book, the episodes are entitled "The Case of the Zombie Cows", "The Case of the Perilous Pipe" and "The Case of the Creepy Cakes." ...more

Amelia a secret agent is not really a secret agent but she has saved the world a lot of times from evil genisus. Amelia even makes her own gadgets. She carries a backpack with all secret agent supplies lots of costumes so she won't be recongized, pad and pencil and magnify glass.

Her first case is found when her mom takes her to a petting zoo and she is much older than the other kids. Her mom is talking to a friend she ran into so Amelia wanders off to look for horses after she has climbed a fence

Amelia, a nine year old finds herself at a petting zoo with her mother and numerous "little" children. Definitely an uncool place for a secret agent so Amelia went exploring while her mother spoke with an acquaintance that she recognized standing watching the small children and small animals. Amelia's senses drew her into a confrontation with a mad scientist intent on taking over the world. Would Amelia and her backpack full of secret agent tools be sufficient to foil this villain? Shelves: elementary
This is an upper elementary level reading novel. Definitely designed for kids because while I love YA, I thought this was not very entertaining. Amelia, the main character, wants to be a secret agent. In three different stories, she finds people that are trying to take over the world and then she stops them.

This is a good book to recommend to our young readers with high reading levels. It includes three short mysteries, one about robotic animals, one about a music teacher, and yet another about two dastardly bakers with an evil plot. Amelia, a secret agent, and elementary school student, loves a mystery!
