I saw the cover of this and who the writer was and did a double take. Is this The Method Man? Yes it is. I have to say right here in the post I was so into it; I was chuckling out loud. Here is the description of the graphic novel as it reads from the back cover: “An ancient evil of unfathomable power plots the unspeakable- the destruction of the mortal realm and beyond . Man’s only hope lies in Peerless Poe, a hard-luck private eye with a taste for booze and a magnetic attraction to danger. A

Method Man adds another notch to his belt by lending the concept and "starring" in this quirky supernatural kung-fu fantasy. As Peerless Poe, a descendant of Cain, he gets plenty of opportunity to strike poses while striking through waves of Lilith's spawn--and that's just the first few pages. In fact, this slim volume is so dense that the main character's background and the details of the premise itself are telegraphed through a text piece at the beginning of the book. So much for show, don't t ...more

Some comedic elements - And it looks pretty good - but composition-wise some of these frames seem like they were put together in a rush - Particularly some of the villains - demons look like cartoons - which undermines the premise of evil. Maybe it was intentional to creat this discord, but it didn't't really work for me. And why miss this opportunity to throw in some cameos from the Wu? who was this clean-cut yahoo sidekick? Who is this old master - Cardboard cutouts without depth. I love me so ...more

This short graphic novel written by Method Man from the Wu-Tang clan and is a fun read. Peerless Poe, is a private investigator and former member of the secret Order of the Sacred Method, Poe is nervous about forging an alliance with a group of people who have exploited in the past. The new threat that they are challenging unleashes dark energies capable of destroying normal men.

I got this title as an eBook from my library and I was disappointed in the quality of the text. The images were fine and the art work was easy to follow but the text was blurry and small and very hard to read. It could have been the reader I was using 'Adobe Digital Editions' on PC and OverDrive on my Galaxy tab but I couldn't zoom in or view the pages full screen. You would think someone would go through and retouch the graphic novel for digital distribution and not just scan the pages into a p ...more

This is a strange comic. I like to imagine that Method Man really perceives himself the way he is portrayed in this comic. It's a stupid story with stupid characters, but it moves fast and is entertaining if you are interested in delving into the mind of Method Man. Not a good book and not one I would really seek out, but it is harmless.

I babble on about this for a while here:

(Warning: There's swearing involved, so be careful if sailor-talk makes you faint).

In short: Nice art, a nobe attempt, but ultimately pretty lame.

I loved the mythos and the worldbuilding. The action and wit was pretty straight-forward. However the angsty ending was really unnecessary and killed the story for me, otherwise this graphic novel would've gotten a higher rating.

Excellent artwork.

The sketches in the back of the book are better than in the comic itself. Clear signs it was a rushed production. Not a bad premise, but terrible execution.

Fun, amusing, but ultimately puerile, unprovoking, and essentially unintersting. I'm expecting too much but, it's the Method Mad, Damnit!

While I enjoyed the artwork and some of the story line, other parts of the story lines did not grab me as much.

Wasn't really that good. Meth had some funny one liners but overall it's pretty weak, even for a comic book
Jennpants
Childish, but created by the one and only Method Man.

It'd be better if it explained wtf Tical means.
