This is the first book by Ms. Fairstein that I've read. It was enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the art history in the books. I'm not into art that much so it was fascinating to me. It was something different for me. I did however like the mystery itself. Author had some good plot twists in there. I liked the characters interplay with each other and how you could see their bonds. I think I made the mistake of reading the third book first however. In the third Alexandra Cooper mystery, a wealthy female art gallery owner has been murdered. Mike Chapman and Mercer Wallace again figure prominently in the book. This time the trio has a long list of possible suspects, and one of them wants Alexandra out of the way permanently. The book is fast paced and interesting. I enjoyed the glimpse into the world of art, as well as the usual look into New York City that Fairstein has given in all three Alexandra Cooper novels. As with the previous boo...more

Asst. DA Alex Cooper and long-time pals Det.'s Chapman and Mercer, hunt for the killer of an art dealer who is pulled out of the water with her hands and feet tied to a ladder.
This was alright...not the best in the series, but worth the reading time.

This is the third of the Alexandra Cooper mysteries featuring the law. A great suspenseful read for all to like and enjoy.
