Les comparto un párrafo muy lindo del libro:
"Y de repente todo se aclaró, como si hubiese un foco de luz iluminando mi interior. Lo que esa luz me mostró es que nadie quita lo que es mío. Y lo que es mío no son personas ni cosas, no es ni un enamorado, ni un trabajo ni una campaña. Es lo que yo misma soy y voy pasando a ser cada día, mi manera de ser, mi amor a la vida, mi manera de tratar de construir mis sueños.

No me gustó para nada. Digo, en verdad te enamoras de alguien por cómo se ve? Porque creo que muchas personas estamos dispuestas a casarnos con el fantasma de la opera y él no es completamente atractivo :/ Bueno, los personajes los odié, a todos, no había ninguno con el que me identificara, pero creo que el peor fue la mamá de Gabi (y por mucho, era chismosa y su esposo la controlaba) Simplemente la odio. Certo dia, minha irmã trouxe esse livro do colégio. Ela era adolescente, eu era criança. Para nossa surpresa, porém, acabei gostando muito mais do livro do que ela. Gostei a ponto de nunca me esquecer de Bruno e de parte do enredo. Foi incrível reler o livro já adulta. Como disse Heráclito, não se pode percorrer duas vezes o mesmo rio. E eu creio que não se possa ler duas vezes o mesmo livro. Isso porque nem o livro nem nós somos os mesmos de antes.

Ana Maria Machado was born in 1941 in Rio de Janeiro and is, alongside Lygia Bojunga Nunes and Ruth Rocha, one of the most significant children's book authors in Brazil. She started her career as a painter in Rio de Janeiro and New York City. After studying Romance languages she did a PhD with Roland Barthes at the 'École pratique des hautes études' in Paris.
