Having never visited the Emerald Isle, I was interested to read Chris Dowding's book.
On the plus side, he does impart quite of bit of interesting information about his travels, and the anecdotes and characters are amusing, giving the reader a pretty good insight into living in Ireland.
On the down side, however, it's not very well written, which is a great pity. Parts of it seemed sloppy, as though the first draft was the last draft. Chris could have used a better editor...more

I've never thought of myself as adventurous - I'm more of an accidental traveller. If there is an enormous mountain to climb, I'd rather take the train to the top. Wide oceans I prefer to cross aboard the latest Boeing or Airbus.
