This book is about a father and a son. The story is narrated by the little boy. It tells about the different things doodlebugs do together. Each activity is what we as humans do as well but with an –oddle added to it.

Activity: This is directed towards younger level grades. I would read them this book and give them a worksheet. At the top would be an open box for them to draw a picture and under I would have a blank line with the question: What would you do if you were a Doodlebug? The students w

This cute Daddy-and-son pair of doodlebugs seem to have stepped off the pages of early Spider magazine, with rounded outlines similar to the Maurice Sendak and Daniel Kirk classics. Father and son do many things together, and enjoy playing with words in a way that endeared them to my five-going-on-six language fanatic. Parental recitation may require a little pre-reading of some of the made-up words, but the daddy-and-me warm fuzzies are worth it.

A delightful little read with my daughter. I don't know many children's books that feature daddy-child time, and this was a real pleasure -- especially when she finishes with, "And I'm a doodlebug too!"

Funny story about a bug and his father where every word has "oodlebug" added to it.
A young doodlebug describes how he and his father are alike and the things they enjoy doing together.
